The presence of the countryside, for example, does not appear only as a distant origin. In many cases, it remains a central part of professional practice. Gabriela Angonese has been running her office in the Serra Gaúcha region for 15 years, where she has developed a career linked to a personal interpretation of classic references. At the show, this vision takes shape in Ode ao Delírio Maximalista.

Renata Costa also built her career from another city. A graduate of the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria and holder of a master's degree in Acoustics, she maintains her office in Torres, on the Rio Grande do Sul coast, while dividing her work between the region and Porto Alegre. It is from this journey that Lavanderia e Espaço Pet Refúgio emerges.

Moving between different cities is also part of the trajectory of Liana Lamare, who has been working between Pelotas and Porto Alegre for more than two decades, and of Pâmela Santanna, who graduated in Santa Maria and today is responsible for projects in different states and countries. What these stories share is that they unsettle an idea still quite present in the market: the notion that a consolidated career in architecture must necessarily have the capital as its permanent center.

The repertoire built across different geographies

The 2026 edition also brings together professionals whose training extended beyond the borders of the state — and, in some cases, of the country.

Humberto Machado, from HVM Arquitetura, complements his undergraduate studies at PUCRS with a stint at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Mariana Fogliatobuilt part of his repertoire in London and Milan, after graduating in Porto Alegre and specializing in commercial architecture. At Poema Arquitetura, Ana Paula Mielke and Josué Michels had academic experiences in Canada and England before consolidating the office in Brazil.

Francéli Ferreira, in turn, took her training to Milan after developing studies related to environmental comfort. These are different paths, but they share the experience of observing other cultures and professional practices before translating them into projects carried out here.

When the project begins in other places

However, a professional's repertoire is not always built solely within architecture. Augusto Donato grew up immersed in the work of Visão e Arte Móveis, a family carpentry shop that has been operating for 15 years in Porto Alegre. Even before completing his degree in Architecture and Urban Planning, his relationship with design already involved observing woodworking and the transformation of raw material into furniture and inhabited spaces. Today, this experience finds another scale in the Ritmo Interno project, designed alongside Giuliana Oliveira.

The trajectory of Viviane Possa also crosses different disciplines. Trained in visual arts and interior architecture, she worked in scenography before developing what she defines as “atmosphere design”. Leading the Genuinaobra agency, she has staged more than a hundred exhibitions — an experience that now meets architecture in Jardim de Dentro, created in partnership with Humberto Machado.

In the end, perhaps this is the most interesting way to look at CASACOR Rio Grande do Sul 2026: the show brings together professionals who arrived at architecture through quite different paths and who today share the same space. From various cities around the world, between the university, the carpentry shop, and scenography, these trajectories reveal that there is no single origin for a project. It is this sum of repertoires that gives the edition its different contours.
