If it's hard enough for a marriage to reach its pearl anniversary, imagine a partnership? Well, Patricia Mayer and Patricia Quentel can boast of having reached this milestone. The longest-running event producers in the city of Rio, they are partners in 3 Plus Assessoria e Marketing. , and responsible, since 1991, for organizing
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , a decoration show that will have its 30th edition between March 2nd and April 25th, 2021. A story that seemed destined for success from the beginning. The namesakes met when they were teenagers, studied at PUC-Rio at the same time and, having just graduated, went to work at Jornal do Brasil. Their temperaments are different, but complementary: the journalist Patrícia Mayer is calm, conciliatory and communicative while designer Patrícia Quentel is expansive, emphatic and very practical. "We have built our partnership over these 30 years with a lot of work, joy, inspiration and respect," says Patricia Quentel, who is complemented by her partner. "I think the secret to a successful partnership is to have empathy, trust, patience and, above all, above all, respect. We have each other's
know-how . So, we can overcome disagreements. Especially because our goals are the same. And we also have optimism in common. We always think that things will work out and that makes us that we look forward together", says Patricia Mayer. The synergy is so great that, in the national decoration market, the duo has become a single “entity”: the Patricias. Together, the two executives work on the front line of the event’s production and marketing, managing the tasks every year. , and wishes, from hundreds of professionals involved in each edition of
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro. They are architects, interior designers, landscapers, partners, suppliers, sponsors, receptionists and workers who, under the Patricias' guidance, created 1,305 decorated environments and attracted more than a million visitors over these three decades. The beginning of this long partnership follows the recipe of many successful entrepreneurs: vision, to see an opportunity in the market; boldness, to undertake in an area that was still in its infancy at that time; and creativity to produce always innovative events.
Willing to give her career a new direction, Mayer called Quentel for a chat: due to her perception of the low quality of the promotional material from decorators and architects that came into her hands – many of them didn't even have portfolios –, she suggested that they specialize in creating books. and promotional material for these professionals. Something that is quite funny in times of celebrity architects on Instagram, but which was a great innovation in the pre-cell phone and pre-internet era. From there, they moved on to other promotional activities, such as organizing the first shop windows decorated by architects, events and exhibitions on decoration and architecture in various places in the city, such as the Rio Design shopping mall, which until then had specialized in this area. "The first book we made was for Julinha Serrado, who wanted to present her work better. It was a success! We made many others and also started doing some work for the design and decoration area, which was very lacking at that time. Nobody worked in that area. market. What is commonplace today: consulting, relationship marketing, activation, simply did not exist. It was a work that we started" – remembers Quentel. In 1991, seeing the success of
CASACOR São Paulo (the event had already been taking place there for three years), the leap came: they signed the contract to be the first event franchise in the country, bringing the brand to Rio. "We had already been working with decoration events for three years when we held the first
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro . I think that this period was important for us to mature and get to know the market well, which at that time was still very incipient. From then on, I think that we helped build the culture of living, which did not yet exist at that time, and we had an impact on the careers of many professionals and even on the market, which evolved a lot and consolidated itself over these three decades" – says Patricia Mayer.
