Stainless steel is no longer just a functional choice and has taken on a new role in decor. Previously associated with professional kitchens and industrial-looking surfaces, the material has gained new life at the CASACOR 2026 shows, with a more sensitive language, capable of dialoguing with wood, natural stones, fabrics and affective memories.

The change lies less in the steel itself and more in the perspective of those who design. Shine, resistance and precision now combine with organic shapes and welcoming compositions, proving that metal can also help tell stories inside the home.

Stainless steel takes on new shapes in bathrooms

At CASACOR São Paulo 2026, the stainless steel countertops caught attention by transforming bathing projects into spaces of aesthetic expression. In Espaço Gênese, by Camilo Jr., and in Banho da Saudade, by Bruno Borges, from BSB Arquitetura, the metal went beyond its utilitarian function and gained prominence in the composition.

The combination with naturally textured materials helps break the idea of coldness. In addition, resistance to humidity and ease of cleaning make stainless steel an interesting alternative for countertops and frequently used surfaces. The contrasts also bring the bathroom closer to a wellness experience.

From the kitchen to the closet, metal creates visual unity

In Casa Limiar R, by Felipe Rossi, stainless steel runs through different points of a loft presented at CASACOR São Paulo. It appears on the kitchen island, the bar, the entirely clad closet and details of the bed. Natural wood balances the metallic presence and brings the whole closer to a residential atmosphere.

The proposal reveals one of the most interesting possibilities of the trend: repeating the same material in distinct functions to create continuity among the projects. The kitchen, once its most predictable territory, becomes just the starting point.

Shelves and bars show the sculptural side of stainless steel

At CASACOR Brasília 2026, the material also found a place in the social areas. In Space at the Table, by M Rocha Arquitetura, a brushed stainless steel sheet shelf holds porcelain pieces, in dialogue with exposed concrete, green curtains and Brazilian furniture.

In Vértice – Jetour Primavia Experience, by Fabiana Boner, a curved bar clad in brushed stainless steel contrasts with Red Xangô quartzite. The curves soften the rigidity associated with metal, while the shine adds movement to the composition.

Even the bedroom joins this transformation

In Espaço Brasal, by Bruno Pessoa, also presented in Brasília, stainless steel appears on the headboard and in screens. Surrounded by carpet, wood and works of art, it no longer suggests an exclusively industrial aesthetic and becomes part of a resting space.

In Loft Jade, by Alessandra Passero and Didacio Duailibe, metal countertops and cabinets dialogue with freijó wood, natural stone and fabrics. The meeting of distinct surfaces shows that sophistication does not depend on similar materials, but on the balance between contrasts.

To avoid an overly cold composition, it is worth combining metal with warm-toned woods, natural fibers, soft fabrics and indirect lighting. The finish also makes a difference: brushed stainless steel tends to produce a more discreet effect than the polished one.

At CASACOR 2026, the main lesson is exactly this: stainless steel does not need to dominate the decor. When it meets the right materials, it broadens the possibilities of expression within the home, celebrating the freedom to experiment with new combinations.
