From bright red to burgundy, reddish tones show how color can transform the perception of a project. At CASACOR Rio 2026, the palette appears in different proposals, sometimes as the main feature of the composition, sometimes in details that add depth and create contrasts with other materials and tones. Carpets, walls, panels, cabinetry, and upholstery reveal the versatility of these colors, which take on different expressions according to the architecture and concept of each project.
For Patricia Mayer, director of CASACOR Rio, the diversity of applications highlights the influence of chromatic choices on the experience of spaces. "Color plays an important role in the way we perceive and experience spaces. At the show, it is interesting to observe how the same palette can take on different identities, from more intense proposals to welcoming compositions, always in tune with the personality of each project," she states.
In Desvio Moderno, by Tom Castro Arquitetura, the bright red of the carpet takes center stage and establishes a direct connection with the work Desvio para o Vermelho, by Cildo Meireles, a central reference for the concept of the project. The color reinforces the intensity of the proposal, which brings together modernism, brutalism, and contemporary art.

On the rooftop, Bar do 19, designed by Capuri Arquitetura, uses red walls to highlight the lounge and build a relaxed atmosphere, inspired by the traditional Carioca bars. The tone is part of a composition that brings together design pieces, artworks, and curated finds, in dialogue with the landscape of Downtown Rio.

The color also appears integrated into the architecture in Casa Entre Tempos, by Gisele Taranto Arquitetura. The cabinetry, upholstery, and wall share the same reddish tone, creating visual continuity and a striking identity for the space. Designed for different generations, the project combines natural materials, furniture from different eras, and accessibility solutions in a residence that values coexistence.

In Estúdio 7, by Amanda Miranda Arquitetura, wine appears on the shelving and offers a contemporary interpretation of cabinetry, in contrast with the blue rug. The combination highlights how the relationship between colors can create balance and personality even in compact spaces. With 70 m², the loft brings together living room, kitchen, bedroom, and support areas in a composition marked by the mix of colors, textures, and patterns.

In Casa Abraço DECA, designed by Studio Marino, the wine tone appears on a textured panel, adding depth to the composition. With wood, stone, water, light, and vegetation, the project explores warmth and sensoriality in a residence that integrates living, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom projects.

In Loft Pilotis, by Rafael Ramos Arquitetura, burgundy stands out on the generous velvet sofa in the social area. The piece adds color and texture to the project, inspired by the pilotis of the Gustavo Capanema Palace and Rio de Janeiro's modernist architecture. The integrated layout, wooden volumes, and natural materials complete the proposal.

In Um Lugar Para Todos, by Jairo de Sender and Corbellini Lopes Arquitetura, burgundy appears combined with dark green and blue, expanding the possibilities of the palette. Designed for a couple over 60, one of whom is a wheelchair user, the apartment incorporates accessibility and flexibility in a composition that also considers coexistence between generations.

The intensity of the color extends to the Prosa Carioca living room, by Fernanda Medeiros Arquitetura, where burgundy appears on the upholstery, wallpaper, and rugs. The tone relates to other colors in the project, such as mustard and blue, as well as natural materials and photographic references of downtown Rio, in an interpretation of the sophisticated informality of Carioca life.

Patricia Quentel, also director of CASACOR Rio, highlights the relationship between chromatic choices and the creative freedom of professionals. "Reddish tones show how chromatic choices can give identity to a project and create different sensations. From vibrant red to burgundy, color appears in dialogue with materials, textures, and artworks, revealing the creative freedom of professionals and different ways of interpreting contemporary living," she says.
The eight projects show that there is no single way to incorporate reddish tones into decor. While bright red brings strength and prominence, wine and burgundy allow for deeper compositions, whether on broad surfaces, furniture pieces, or combinations with other colors. At CASACOR Rio 2026, the palette appears as a resource to explore different atmospheres and express the identity of each project.
