In the edition celebrating its 35th anniversary, CASACOR Rio 2026 extends the show experience to a free-access social area on the ground floor of the Aliança da Bahia Building, where the show is on display until November 8. A pocket forest, café, bookstore, home décor shop, optical store, and jewelry store make up a route in which nature, the flavors of coffee, and products for sale share attention with architecture. The spaces invite the public to discover different expressions of design in projects that also value gatherings and social interaction.
Upon entering the ground floor, visitors are greeted by the Tribute to Ruy Rezende, who was responsible for the building's retrofit and maintained its original configuration, with an intervention that highlights the existing architecture. The Atlas bench, by Danilo Lopes and Paula Gontijo, establishes a dialogue with the work by Gustavo Prado, created especially for the site. In the elevator hall, a general map presents the distribution of the projects across the floors and contextualizes the building's history and the show's occupation proposal.

Next, Clareira, by Pedro Rabelais Paisagismo, starts from the concept of an opening between the city and nature. Amid the density of downtown Rio, the garden creates a kind of breathing space toward the sky, inviting visitors to slow down, breathe, and establish a sensory connection with the space. A circular reflecting pool mirrors the sky and reinforces the idea of a clearing, while the work Saudade, by Beto Gatti, proposes a reflection on the presence of technology and the internet in contemporary life. With 196 m², the project adopts principles of low environmental impact, reuse, and the use of natural and durable materials. The vegetation will be removed and reused after the show closes, extending its life cycle in new spaces.
Ana Cano e Daniel Marques Mendes - Chez Patricia. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2026. (André Nazareth/CASACOR)
There, visitors can also enjoy a pause at Chez Patricia, by Ana Cano and Daniel Marques Mendes, which combines gastronomy, social interaction, and memory in a tribute to directors Patricia Mayer and Patricia Quentel, who have led CASACOR Rio for 35 years. The project values Carioca hospitality, with a large counter, communal tables, artworks, objects, and vegetation. More than a café, the project functions as a gathering house, open to conversations, music, and cultural programming. The gastronomic experience features a menu signed by chef Ecio Cordeiro de Mello.

The route also includes the Chef's Secret Kitchen, also signed by Ana Cano and Daniel Marques Mendes. Integrated with Chez Patricia, the Chef's Secret Kitchen reveals the behind-the-scenes of the gastronomic experience. The space functions simultaneously as a support kitchen and a stage for activities and programming related to gastronomy, bringing the public closer to the processes that take place behind the service. The project is also part of the gastronomic experience signed by chef Ecio Cordeiro de Mello.
The concept of the shops dialogues with the Carioca way of living, combining architecture with a selection of welcoming and relaxed products in spaces open to encounters. Natural materials, affective references, art, and furniture give personality to the projects, which are more than just shops and present their own interpretation of this relationship between home and city.
"The implementation of the social area on the ground floor, with free access, brings CASACOR Rio closer to the public and to the city. People can visit the shops regardless of the show ticket, learn about the projects, and enjoy this social space. We want the public to feel at ease to come in, walk around and discover what each project offers," says Patricia Quentel, director of CASACOR Rio.
Bianca Sieberer Arquitetura e Interiores - Livraria CASACOR. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2026. (André Nazareth/CASACOR)
At the CASACOR Bookstore, the firm Bianca Sieberer Arquitetura e Interiores brings together books, art and design in 40 sqm, plus an additional 20 sqm dedicated to circulation and socializing. Color and millwork guide the project, with a large bookshelf that wraps around the existing columns and movable boxes displaying handcrafted embroidery works. Wood, colored lacquers, Brazilian stones and handcrafted objects make up the project, which preserves original elements of the building. Between bookshelves and lounge areas, the books are inserted into an architecture that invites discovery and pause.
Anna Fadul Arquitetura - Loja da CASA. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2026. (André Nazareth/CASACOR)
With 35 sqm, the CASA Shop, designed by Anna Fadul Arquitetura, brings together decorative objects – many of which, by the way, can even be seen throughout the projects, on display – and socializing in a project integrated with the show's experience. The relationship between the exhibited products, architecture and daily life guides the proposal. More than a shopping point, the space works as an extension of the ground floor lounge areas, incorporating gathering and circulation into the experience of getting to know the items presented.
Luan Freitas | Arquiteto - Olhar Carioca. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2026. (André Nazareth/CASACOR)
At the Olhar Carioca optics shop, architect Luan Freitas brings the atmosphere of a contemporary Rio home into a 38.95 sqm space. The eyewear is presented as design objects, in dialogue with artworks, furniture and affective references. The memory of an old family bookshelf appears in the project and gives a personal character to the space. The result is an optics shop in which the display of the products integrates with the feeling of being at home.
Paula Costa Arquitetura - Joalheria. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2026. (André Nazareth/CASACOR)
The mineral origin of jewelry is the starting point of the Jewelry Shop, a project by Paula Costa Arquitetura. In the 35 sqm space, dark green marble establishes the visual identity and contrasts with the wood and other natural materials. Artworks and design pieces inspired by mineral shapes complete the composition, creating a relationship between the jewelry presented and the material that inspires the architecture.
"The shops area is an invitation to enjoy CASACOR Rio at a slower pace, discover products and choose something special to take home or to give as a gift. It also welcomes those who want to visit the shops and find a keepsake from this edition celebrating our 35 years. It's a way to take a bit of the show's experience, in this historic 35-year edition, with you for the rest of your life," says Patricia Mayer, director of CASACOR Rio.
