Flooring plays a fundamental role in how spaces are perceived. In addition to guiding circulation, it can establish contrasts, highlight architectural elements, and define the atmosphere of a project. Among the many existing possibilities, colorful floors allow personality to be added to the décor – whether through the materiality of concrete or the intensity of tones present in carpets and other coverings.

At CASACOR 2026, different projects explore these possibilities, combining colors, textures, and materials to create visual experiences. From raw-looking concrete to vibrant carpets, the proposals show how the choices made for the floor can transform the reading of interiors.

Among the projects featuring colorful floors, Casa Bric, by Bric Arquitetura, draws on Le Corbusier's concept of machine à habiter to create a functional loft. The red concrete floor coexists with works of art, Brazilian furniture, and signature pieces, in a composition that emphasizes the materiality and design of the objects.

At Cria Café, by ESC. Arquitetura, a large grandstand surrounds the space and invites contemplation of the garden. Inspired by the idea of a plaza, the project prioritizes gathering and lingering, with a yellow floor and signature furniture made from repurposed materials.

In Espaço Kazza, by Alexandre Rousset, a single color integrates the surfaces and creates a continuous composition, including terracotta walls and floor inspired by the geography of Minas Gerais. In the background, a solar disc and shifts in light establish a dramatic atmosphere, while curtains and blinds add movement to the project.

In the projects at CASACOR 2026 that feature colorful carpet, the floor takes center stage through its chromatic intensity and texture. In the João Dalmácio Auditorium, designed by Isabela Castello in partnership with Flavia Abaurre and Leticia Abaurre, the red carpet evokes celebration and prestige. The choice is part of a tribute to the founder of Hotel Porto do Sol and to the venue's history as a stage for social, corporate, and cultural gatherings.

Bar Ocelo, by Orestes Blanco and Rosa Manarini, revives the atmosphere of the speakeasies of the 1920s. In 48 sq m, velvets, mirrors, Art Déco graphics, and wallpapers inspired by peacock feathers compose an immersive setting. The carpet dialogues with the bar island in burgundy lacquer and the dramatic lighting, reinforcing the sense of sophistication.

At Bilheteria Limiar, by Três Arquitetura, the carpet is part of a scenographic composition of 59 sqm, marked by vibrant colors and contrasts between marble, wood, leather and velvet. Sculptures, paintings and a signature panel complete the space, which transforms the entrance of the show in Brasília into a visual experience.

The Living Podcast (cover), by Lucas Nascimento, uses carpet throughout the 100 sqm project, connecting architecture to references from cinema, theater, music and literature. In Desvio Moderno, by Tom Castro, red carpet takes center stage, inspired by the work Desvio para o Vermelho, by Cildo Meireles. In contrast with the dark wood and modernist furniture, the colorful floor reinforces the connection between architecture and contemporary art.

In residential projects, the floor can take on the role of a guiding thread for the decor, establishing relationships between colors, materials and furniture. Exposed concrete highlights the beauty of natural surfaces and gains new nuances alongside wood and fibers. Colorful carpet, on the other hand, adds depth and gives character to living areas. When the choice considers the architecture and the aesthetic repertoire of the home, the flooring is no longer just a base and becomes part of the project's identity.
