Some projects at CASACOR Ribeirão Preto 2026 did not start from a trend or a material, but from the very biography of those who designed them. Set in a mansion designed by Marcos Tomanik, under the theme 'Mind and Heart', the show brings together projects built from grandma's house, from an apartment that no longer exists, from a family repertoire that crossed the ocean.

The kitchen that belonged to grandma

Victoria Balbo designed the Nonna's Kitchen based on a house she visited hundreds of times as a child. The project deliberately keeps the original marble floor and wainscoting of the space, choosing to preserve the marks of time rather than erase them. The green-toned cabinetry is combined with wood, straw and natural fabrics, recovering the kind of warmth that only a family kitchen seems to have.

Recipe books and crochet frames from the architect's personal collection complete the scene. "Architecture has the power to awaken memories, strengthen bonds and make people feel truly at home", sums up Victoria.

When memory is collective

Not every memory-house is born from an individual biography. In Memories that Inhabit, the Interior Design students of SENAC Ribeirão Preto sign a project built from a broader idea: that a home is not made only of objects, but of the stories kept within them.

The entrance hall and the accessible bathroom — areas usually treated as mere passageways — were redesigned to carry narrative weight, with a maximalist language of layers, colors, patterns and collectible items that evoke the childhood home and the feeling of going back in time. The project also solves, almost quietly, an equation that is not always simple: showing that accessibility, functionality and aesthetic sophistication can coexist in the same space.

A new way of telling maturity

Caru Cunha starts from an acronym to build the Nolt Bedroom — New Older Living Trend. The project was designed for a 60+ couple who has already understood the luxury of having time and not being in a hurry: pure volumes, precise lines, materials of discreet beauty. Warmth appears in details such as the woven fabric headboard, which balances depth and softness in a single gesture, while vintage objects, photographs and travel mementos gradually build the narrative of a life shared by two.

"It is a scene of serene elegance, in which aesthetics embraces stories and living becomes an expression of identity", describes the architect — a project that treats aging not as a problem to be solved, but as a stage that also deserves good architecture.

The veranda as a meeting point

In A Corner of the Earth, Silvia Camargo builds a project to tell not just one story, but several: the trajectories of families from different origins who settled in Brazil. Inherited pieces share space with nationally produced technology — tapestries, artworks and a farmhouse table coexist with contemporary furniture, transforming the veranda into a meeting point between different eras and techniques.

The color palette starts with orange, a color the architect associates with sociability and togetherness, and expands into autumnal tones that evoke the region's own landscape. "These are choices that draw from the colors present in the region's landscape, in harmony with the earth and with a shared visual repertoire", she explains.

A home designed to be lived in

Fabrício Frezza and Gabriel Figueiredo sign Your Well-Lived Home Electrolux with a proposal less about the past and more about the ongoing present: an equipped, dynamic and affectionate home, designed to welcome gatherings and conversations in everyday life. Blue, straw, beige and green combine with the lightness of light wood, ceramics, fiber, cotton and linen, fostering an informal atmosphere geared toward relaxation and self-care.

Technology enters as a partner in this routine, and not as the protagonist — here, it serves life, not the other way around. "A living home, with a happy and relaxing color palette and the comfort of natural materials in finishes, furniture, fabrics and textures that invite, welcome and embrace", the architects sum up.
