There are projects that are born from a dialogue with the landscape, but there are also those that unfold as a reunion with one's own history. In one of the most valued locations of Riviera de São Lourenço, on the northern coast of São Paulo, architect Brunete Fraccaroli (from the CASACOR São Paulo lineup) signs the complete redesign of this 270 sqm apartment facing the ocean. The relationship with the property is not new, since the previous layout also bore the professional's signature.

The opportunity to redesign the spaces arose after a retrofit on the building's façade, which expanded the balcony. In search of a timeless retreat, the owners — a couple of entrepreneurs from the capital — turned to the architect again to elevate the sophistication of the projects and maximize the horizon.

The central premise of the intervention was to create a serene atmosphere to enhance the sea view. To this end, the living and dining rooms were integrated with the newly expanded veranda, allowing the breeze and natural light to fill the entire social area.

The selection of finishes plays a fundamental role in the new narrative: the floor covered in Golden Calacatta marble reflects the brightness that comes from the sea, while the warm wood cabinetry balances the light tones and brings an immediate sense of coziness.

One of the great highlights of the project is the structural pillar at the center of the social area: covered with Italian mother-of-pearl mosaics, the element was transformed into a true sculptural piece inspired by marine aesthetics, reflecting natural light in a unique way.

In addition to the complete replacement of finishes, furniture and cabinetry, the renovation also required significant structural adjustments to ensure greater functionality for the residents' routine. The layout was reconfigured to allow the expansion of one of the bedrooms, transformed into a comfortable suite, in addition to the strategic repositioning of the living room's powder room and another social bathroom.

The greatest technical challenge lay in the integration of the projects themselves, rigorously studied so that the opening of the spaces would not obstruct the panoramic view of the sea from any angle of the social area.

The kitchen with a mixed-finish island combines clean lines and refined cabinetry to reinforce functional elegance. In the master suite, the use of leather, lacquers in soft tones, and an intimate lighting design create a sanctuary of rest.
