Transforming an apartment designed for a family into a practical refuge full of personality for a single resident was the challenge taken on by architects Adriana Valle and Patricia Carvalho, from the office @migsarquitetura (and part of the CASACOR São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro lineup). The 102 sqm property was designed to accommodate the fluid routine of a Rio native who frequently travels between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

The starting point was the total opening of the social area, uniting living room, dining room, kitchen and balcony. The new layout enhances natural lighting and connects the apartment's interior with the capital's skyline and with the garden designed by the Burle Marx office in the condominium.

In terms of materiality, wood takes center stage through custom-made signature carpentry, creating a welcoming and functional atmosphere. The furniture brings together contemporary design pieces, items rescued from antique shops and objects from the resident's own collection, establishing an elegant curation without excesses.

In addition to the integrated social area, the floor plan features a powder room, private office, service area and a suite equipped with a closet. The harmonious combination of memory, sophistication and technical refinement established the project as one of the winners of the iF Design Award 2026 in the Interior Architecture category.
