In 2019, the month of May marks an important date in the history of art: the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo Da Vinci. One of the most important artists of the Renaissance, Da Vinci's vast body of work goes beyond the fame and mysteries of the Mona Lisa, and he also developed works in anatomy, mathematics and botany. In an effort to pay tribute to the legacy of the Italian genius, Galeria Myllery brought together five renowned contemporary artists for the
Leonardo Redux exhibition.
Redux means “brought back” or “resurrected”. Establishing a dialogue between techniques of the past and present based on Da Vinci’s relentless search for perfection and originality is what the exhibition aims to present.
The Leonardo Redux exhibition will open to the public on April 24, 2019, at the Lounge Space of Shopping Center 3, on Avenida Paulista in São Paulo.
