Built in 1949, the house where architect João Batista Vilanova Artigas lived, located in Campo Belo, South Zone of São Paulo, served as the family's home until 2016, was listed and revitalized between 2016 and 2017, and yesterday (21), it was inaugurated and opened its doors as the
Instituto Casa Vilanova Artigas (ICVA).
The project to redefine the property is by architect Talita De Nardo Missaglia, a student of Júlio Artigas, son of the renowned architect. The place will serve as a cultural center, full of activities, hosting the exhibition
Artigas: The House as a City – with projects and images of the architect’s life and work – in addition to offering a café and coworking space.
The Institute has
Café Artigas , located in the courtyard of the house, with an original landscaping project by Burle Marx, re-edited by Luis Carlos Orsini.
The aim is for visitors to value the historical heritage and architecture, design and art.
