Art gains even more space at the 31st CASACOR Minas, which takes place between August 15 and October 6, at PUC Minas Lourdes. In addition to integrating the architecture, interior design, and landscaping projects presented in this edition, artistic production will be the protagonist of its own program at the CASACOR Minas Gallery, which will host different exhibitions throughout the season.
Under the coordination of Leopoldo Gurgel, the gallery will function as a dynamic space within the show. The proposal is to periodically renew its content, bringing together galleries and artists from different generations and multiple languages, establishing new possibilities for dialogue between art, architecture, and design.

The program began on August 15, with the exhibition "From the Ordinary to the Extraordinary," presented by ArtWish. The group show brings together works by artist Petchó Silveira and Pirilampos do Planeta, a project developed by artists Flávio Carvalho and Lula Duffrayer, with curation by Luana Caldeira.
Through distinct languages and mediums, the artists start from materials that have lost value in society's eyes to discuss memory, presence, consumption, and invisibility. What would be discarded gains new meanings and takes center stage in the artistic experience.
In Petchó Silveira's works, cardboard goes beyond its condition as a support and becomes part of the very narrative of the pieces. A resident of the central region of Belém, the artist observed homeless people collecting the material to use as shelter — and it is precisely on these surfaces, marked by tears, folds, and scars, that he builds portraits of historically marginalized Black people.

Pirilampos do Planeta, in turn, directs its gaze to another dimension of waste. Packaging and plastic fragments are transformed into vibrant sculptures, prompting a reflection on what remains on the planet after objects cease to be desired and consumed.
By bringing these two research paths together, the exhibition establishes a meeting between social and environmental urgencies: the cardboard that can serve as shelter and the plastic that remains in the environment, become material for a discussion that also directly relates to the idea of inhabiting. "From the Ordinary to the Extraordinary" also proposes a look at what, and at those, who often remain on the outside. The exhibition thus suggests a transformation of the gaze: perceiving value where before there was discard and recognizing humanity where there has historically been erasure.
After the inaugural exhibition, the CASACOR Minas Gallery undergoes successive transformations throughout the nearly two months of the show. Each week, a new exhibition occupies the space, allowing visitors to encounter different perspectives of artistic production.

This cross-cutting presence reinforces a hallmark of CASACOR Minas 2026: art does not appear merely as a complementary element of the projects, but as part of the narrative of the projects and of the experience offered to visitors.
