Modernist influence: glass houses stand out at CASACOR 2018

Brasília. Glass House – Orla Studio. The cosmopolitan charm of New York was the guiding principle behind the construction of the show’s official café, which measures over 100 m². The space incorporates glass, wood, industrial elements and the use of plants on the roof, which connect visitors to nature and convey the concept of urban forests. Of course, references to Brasília could not be left out, present in pieces and furniture by local designers.

Pernambuco. Vivix Glass House - Diogo Viana. Performa glass is the main element. From the walls to the ceiling, it reveals resistance, technology, solar protection and aesthetics in all the spaces of the studio - which includes a bedroom, gourmet living room and transparent bathroom. The sinuous sofa and the bed with a glass base were designed by the architect, and the monochromatic decor reveals: the future is green.

Santa Catarina. Casa Grigio - Cris Passing and Giovane Marangoni. On the free terrain, architecture and interior are born together, integrating internal and external. The sustainable Wood Frame construction system allowed for record execution times. Natural light falls on the spaces, which bring a clean concept with integrated environments and inspiration from Italian design. And, from the elegant shades of gray, the name Casa Grigio emerged.

Paraíba. Loft 750 - Leo Maia. The Loft offers many experiences to its visitors. The balance begins in the garden and lake in the outdoor area and invades the indoor area, a virtually transparent glass box filled with contemporary furniture and designer pieces. The color palette is grayish with hints of yellow.

São Paulo. Urban Refuge - Marina Linhares. The glass enclosure makes the connection with the natural light and greenery that embraces this refuge, in the Jockey forest, permanent. An original tree was even incorporated into the center of the living room. In the urban atmosphere, the warm touch of wood and warming colors.

São Paulo. SysHaus - Arthur Casas. The SysHaus modular system was pre-launched at CASACOR 2018. With it, it was possible to build the high-standard house in less than a month, without waste or water use. Generous openings allow natural ventilation and light to pass through it.

Espírito Santo. Studio do Ciclista - Fernando Pandolfi. The loft innovates with its container structure. The entire structure can be dismantled, including the deck, porticos, lake and the house itself. The interiors feature sophisticated black and inspiration from the mountains. In terms of sustainability, the highlight is the solar energy capture system and the large openings that let in light - as well as the sea view.

Santa Catarina. The Garden Loft - Rose Campos Martorano, Allan Chierighini and Fábio Silva. With a cosmopolitan look and a gourmet kitchen open to the lounge, the space is a perfect place to host friends in a cozy atmosphere. Without any partitions, the outdoor spaces interact, such as the hot tub area, the deck and the various nooks and crannies created with the landscaping. Also note the green roof.

Pernambuco. Copergás Gourmet Space - Paulo Veloso. The open terrace expands and enhances the wooden and glass box, integrating the space with the garden where the huge mango tree lives. Inside, the well-equipped kitchen is powered by natural gas and designed to welcome guest chefs. To make the most of the space, a sofa occupies the entire length of the room and the counter reserves extra seats.

In Brazil, we also have a representative symbol of the global trend. Lina Bo Bardi designed the Glass House (1949-51), in the Morumbi neighborhood of São Paulo. The building houses the Bo Bardi Institute and is open to the public. The professionals at CASACOR 2018 were inspired by modernist lines to design closed environments with transparency, which allows a complete view of the house's boundaries, providing privileged views and emphasizing the surroundings.
