Self-sufficient and sustainable,
Powerhouse Company ’s new design for the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) headquarters is scheduled for construction in spring 2020. The floating office is to be temporarily housed in Rijnhaven, Rotterdam.
“As the planet’s climate is changing, extraordinary weather events, which are becoming more frequent, present new challenges for architects,” explains Patrick Verkooijen, CEO of GCA. “The incorporation of sustainability concepts seeks to drive initiatives that can collaborate with the mitigation of the consequences resulting from climate change".
