Guided by hospitality, Canvas Deca brings together kitchen, living area and spa at CASACOR Minas

Living room, kitchen, bar, wine cellar and spa make up Canvas Deca, a 92 m² project developed by the duo Carla Cruz and Phil Pinheiro for CASACOR Minas Gerais.

Guided by hospitality, the project features an open, continuous and fluid floor plan that proposes different uses. The name Canvas itself refers to the idea of an open surface, built from different layers. With a combination of curves, wood, soft lighting and earthy tones, the architects created a unique area for cooking, serving, listening to music, resting and taking care of oneself.

“We didn't think about the project based on isolated functions, such as kitchen and bathroom, but on complementary experiences. Canvas Deca proposes another relationship with time and with the act of hosting. Gathering, gastronomy, music and pause share the same atmosphere, with products that take part in the use and don't appear merely as display,” says Carla Cruz.

In the living area, two curved sofas, designed by Estúdio Sala, are the focal point. In addition to the careful marquetry work on the structure, the pieces follow the layout of the floor plan and create a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The low lighting, the earthy tones and the wood reinforce the atmosphere geared toward conversation, rest and music. There, a sideboard with turntables and speakers designed by the pair of architects completes the space.

“This is a space for hosting, where we would like to be. We have the sofa where we talk looking each other in the eye, there's a bar, a wine cellar and there is always music. That is very important,” adds Phil Pinheiro.

The kitchen, integrated with a bar and a wine cellar, sits within this large living area and brings together some of Deca's products designed for hosting moments. The Workstation Sink and the Deca Inside Retractable Single-Lever Faucet, both in Black Matte, share space with the Glass Holder, Shelf and Magnetic Utensil Holder accessories from Deca's Nomos Line, in chrome finish. The elements assist in preparing food and organizing the kitchen, keeping glasses, objects and utensils within reach.

The cabinetry in Carvalho Brun MDF, from Duratex, covers the fireplace structure. The wood grain warms the composition and contrasts with the Black Matte finish of the sink and with the accent shine of the chrome accessories. The Petra Sólida Preto sintered stone, from Portinari, adds depth and a mineral aspect to the ensemble and accompanies the preparation and support surfaces.

Further along, curved structures make the transition between the spa and the social area. Although they maintain the visual continuity of the interiors, they modify the light, the scale and the sense of seclusion. Little by little, the space invites you to slow down.

In the spa, the proposal turns to personal care. The Etrusco Round Sink, in Mocha color, from Deca, is made of architectural concrete. The Spout and the Actuator, both from the Deca You line, in Dark Antracite finish, separate the water outlet from the control and allow for a freer composition on the countertop. Accessories from the same collection reinforce the functionality of the space, such as the Deca You Hook, which keeps towels and robes within reach.

The space also includes the High Tech White Toilet Bowl and, in the bathing area, the Aquamax Dark Antracite Showerhead. On the walls, the Vestígios Decor Mix tile, from Portinari, with a half-round shape, adds relief and rhythm to the surfaces.

In the background, another highlight is the original mural created by Estúdio Sala, which brings together different Portinari surfaces in a composition of colors, cutouts and textures. Pieces from the Argilas collection form designs with an organic feel, while Petra Sólida Preto Mate adds contrast and depth.

The mural frames the custom-made vanity, with built-in sink and other embedded speakers, in addition to a pair of chaises. It also revisits, in its own materiality, the idea of a surface built from different layers that guides the concept of the space.

For Marina Crocomo, Marketing and Design Director at Dexco, the project reflects this integration between products, interior architecture and practicality in different moments of daily life.

"Canvas Deca presents a brand that values its history and, at the same time, takes part in shaping new ways of living. The products are embedded in real experiences, linked to social interaction, hospitality and personal care. The Estúdio Sala project shows how Deca's design can span different moments of the routine and contribute to more fluid, sensorial and connected projects," she states.
