Inspired by the course of water, Deca's projects at Deca at CASACOR Bahia transform this element into the guiding thread of the project signed by architect Gabriel Magalhães.

Named Águas que Acalmam Deca, the space also seeks to connect architecture, ancestry, art and well-being, while highlighting the Bahian cultural identity and the history of Casa Nossa Senhora das Mercês, in Salvador.

"Water appears as a symbol of cleansing, welcoming and tranquility. The idea was to create a house that welcomes the visitor gradually, with a contemporary, clean architecture, but full of affection, art and identity," says the architect.

The journey begins in an entrance hall conceived as a vestibule. The curved wall works as a focal point and, combined with low lighting, prepares the visitor for the welcoming, fresh and joyful atmosphere of the house.

In the social area, the living room and integrated kitchen become the central projects for gatherings between family and friends. Gabriel preserved the original flooring of the former convent as a nod to the building's history. His curation prioritized Brazilian authorial production, with signature design pieces and artworks that dialogue with the contemporary language of the project.

Deca's solutions accompany this proposal with features aimed at food preparation and countertop organization.

The Workstation Sink brings together different functions in a single piece, with an area for food sanitization, space for cleaning cups and bottles, and accessories that support meal preparation. Alongside it, the Enjoy Pro Single-Lever Faucet offers filtered, chilled and sparkling water, while accessories from the Nomos line help keep the countertop organized.

Inside the cabinets, the Suprema Trash Bin, equipped with a presence sensor and ozone release system to inhibit the proliferation of microorganisms, and the paper towel holder complement the proposal of a practical and discreet kitchen.

For the surfaces, the Nex Concreto porcelain tile, by Portinari, dialogues with the new Hibisco pattern, by Duratex, applied inside the cabinets as a touch of color.

Next, the suite adopts earthy tones to reinforce the sense of warmth. The color palette gains warmer hues, present in the joinery in Carvalho Brun pattern, by Duratex, and in the headboard covered with ethnic-inspired fabric. At the center, the building's original spiral staircase functions as a sculptural element that brings past and present closer together.

In the bathroom, water once again guides the journey. The Carpigiano countertop, by Portinari, serves as the base for two Etrusco Sinks in Barbante finish, accompanied by the Deca You Wall Spouts in Brown Matte and the Aquamax Wall Shower. The set reinforces the proposal of transforming the bath into a moment of pause and care.

The route ends on the terrace, where water establishes a dialogue with natural light, vegetation and the atmosphere of an urban refuge. Set within the garden, the LK bathtub, in white, invites relaxation, while a customized fountain, equipped with Chrome Wall Spouts from the Deca You line, keeps the water in continuous movement. The painting by Alexandre Feliciano expands the poetic dimension of the space by connecting architecture, ancestry and Bahian culture.

Still within the projects, the Pérola Basin, by Deca, takes on a sculptural character in a subtle reference to the original architecture of the former convent and the symbolic layers present in its history.
