CASACOR Bahia 2026 takes place from July 7 to September 6 at Casa Nossa Senhora das Mercês, in the heart of Salvador. In its 32nd edition, the show returns to the eighteenth-century mansion on Avenida Sete de Setembro that made its debut as the venue last year, now with a proposal that places culture at the center of the experience. Under the theme Mind and Heart, the edition opens to the public the second floor of the building, a space that remained closed in 2025, to host an art gallery that becomes the main novelty of the edition.

If in 2025 the novelty lay in the address itself, opened to visitors after nearly three centuries of seclusion, in 2026 it shifts to the content. CASACOR Bahia deliberately takes on the role of a cultural hub in Salvador during the two months of the show, with art distributed across all floors, a dedicated gallery on the previously inaccessible floor, concerts open to the public, and actions that bring the event closer to the city.
"This edition translates our desire to make CASACOR Bahia a cultural meeting point for Salvador. The art gallery we are opening on the second floor leads this proposal, and the programming that accompanies it brings culture to the city over the course of two months," states Magali Santana, director of CASACOR Bahia.

The masterplan of the edition is signed by architect David Bastos, who is also responsible for the intervention on the internal facades, including that of the mansion's church. The central concept was to create a fluid and intuitive visitation route that enhances the public experience within the conditions of the existing construction and highlights the original architecture of the property, including the open-air central courtyard, one of the show's major highlights.
Faced with a pre-existing architectural configuration, with already defined circulation, Bastos adopted a perimeter route that leads the visitor around the building continuously, avoiding crossings and crowd concentrations and allowing a more individualized appreciation of each project. Developed together with Magali Santana and the CASACOR Bahia team, based on the experience of the previous edition, the design preserved the dimensions and occupancy that worked well and focused efforts on improving the flows, to distribute the public's attention in a balanced way among the spaces.

"We recognize the existing architecture as the protagonist of the show, preserving its identity and historical importance, while also opening space for new interpretations by the professionals. The result is a harmonious coexistence between past and present," states David Bastos.
The highlight of the edition is on the second floor of Mercês, which was not open to the public in 2025 and now houses an art gallery. The project is by Ernesto Bitencourt Galeria de Arte, curated by Ernesto Bitencourt with exhibition design by Wesley Lemos and Ernesto Bittencourt. Gathered under the program Panorama of Modern and Contemporary Bahian Art, there are 190 works by names of Bahian and Brazilian art, distributed in a circuit that runs through the three floors of the mansion in a descending direction.

The opening of the route, on the second floor, is dedicated to a solo exhibition by Aurelino dos Santos. The master from Bahia, who passed away in January 2026, is honored with 30 unpublished canvases produced in the last decade. His urban cartographies establish a direct relationship with the architecture of the mansion, and this is the first major exhibition of his work after his death. The first floor continues the visit with two circulation wings. The first brings together names such as Deisi Rocha, presented as one of the new revelations of the scene, alongside Jayme Jygura, Calasans Neto, Sante Scaldaferri and Vauluizo Bezerra. The second, named Outros Olhares, coexists with historic sconces from the convent and presents works by Ranchinho and Nage Maron, in addition to the chair by Ramiro Bernabó, which takes on a sculptural character on the central axis.

The ground floor closes the exhibition with a panorama of one hundred works. The highlight is the tribute to Almandrade, a living constructivist artist, represented by 15 works. On the central axis of the corridor, the sculptures of Mario Cravo rise as landmarks of the closing. The set also brings together names such as Washington Sales, Carybé, Emanoel Araújo and Volpi. “We selected the works for the intrinsic value of each one and for the possible and necessary dialogue between them,” explains Ernesto Bittencourt.

The cultural dimension of the edition also appears in the project signed by students of LAB IV from the Escola de Belas Artes da UFBA, coordinated by professor Bruna Dória, in a partnership that is renewed in this edition. The students developed the exhibition's press room, inspired by the 1950s, a period in which Lina Bo Bardi lived in Bahia alongside names such as Carybé and Pierre Verger, and brings together research, newspaper clippings from the time, and tapestries by Genaro de Carvalho.

Art also reaches the exhibition's awards. The trophies of this edition are signed by the artist Luciana Bittencourt, who transforms roots collected from burned areas of Chapada Diamantina into artwork.
Amid a scenario of accelerated transformations and hyperconnectivity, the CASACOR 2026 manifesto proposes a return to the essential. Mind and Heart invites us to slow down, to rediscover the time of making and exchange between generations, and to cultivate a more conscious way of living, guided by cooperation and the manual gesture that gives meaning back to everyday life. In total, 46 projects bring together more than 50 professionals from architecture, interior design, and landscaping, including exhibition veterans and 21 newcomers. “CASACOR Bahia has always been a showcase of consolidated talents, but part of our mission is to open doors. Having 21 newcomers in this edition shows that the Bahian architecture and design scene is alive and pulsating,” explains Magali Santana.

One of the highlights of 2026 broadens the city's access to the show. Nine projects will operate under an urban kindness regime, with free admission, including the box office, the CASACOR store, the dome, the garden, the café, the fit bar and the restaurants. Visitors can circulate through these areas, occupy the garden and feel the energy of the mansion without buying a ticket. To go up to the floors and walk through the projects and the gallery, simply purchase the ticket on site. The measure reinforces the edition's vocation to bring CASACOR closer to Salvador's daily life.

Gastronomy holds a central place in the experience. In this edition, the show welcomes the gastronomic group Soho, responsible for two restaurants and a drinks bar. The main restaurant's project is signed by Carol Barreto, and the Japanese restaurant is in charge of Paula Risério and Marco Reis. The café, which had a great reception last year, moved down to the garden and gained more space. Pedro Chezzi signs, for the second consecutive year, the dome project, which houses the Aura Bar, operated by Grupo Soho, and also signs the café, operated by Brigaderia Belga, a local guest brand.

The edition brings together eight stores, with fashion, jewelry, eyewear, fragrances and handicrafts from Bahia. Among the highlights are Meninos Rei, with a space signed by Augusto Senna and the Vitalina fashion store, signed by Bruna Dória. The big news is the official CASACOR store, unprecedented in the franchise, with products created especially for the show. The list also includes Livraria LDM and GV Joias, which reaches its third consecutive year at the show. The fit bar Manolo Wellness takes advantage of the edition to hold its official opening. Avatim debuts a store to serve the public interested in the exclusive launch aroma, present in all projects. Gustavo Eyewear returns to Bahia after having sold the entire stock of glasses displayed in the last edition.

The cultural vocation of the edition also translates into the program of concerts. CASACOR Bahia 2026 will have four concerts open to the public within the show, an unprecedented fact, sponsored by the Government of Bahia and the operator Claro. The performances take place on two weekends in August, on the 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd, with Bahian artists: Clariana Fróes, Larissa Luz, Illy and the female group Sambaiana. The program connects to the Faz Cultura program, through which the show gives back to the state and the municipality, with an invitation to schools and institutional audiences.
Gabriel Magalhães - Águas Que Acalmam - Deca. Projeto da CASACOR Bahia 2026. (Denilson Machado, do MCA Estúdio/CASACOR)
The edition brings together proprietary projects that translate the values of brands through architecture and design: Deca, 55 Design, Qualivida; Matrix; iGUi Piscinas and Electrolux, which celebrates 100 years of the brand in Brazil.
