At CASACOR Ribeirão Preto, projects pay tribute to the city's roots and history

Ribeirão Preto is not only the setting of CASACOR 2026. In different projects of the exhibition, the city takes on the role of inspiration and protagonist, with its history, culture, and identity translated through architecture, landscaping, art, and design. From the red soil that sustained the region's development to the coffee tradition, passing through the historical heritage and the production of local artists, the projects establish connections between past and present and build a true ode to the city.

The journey begins right at the entrance to the exhibition, in Jardins de Mari, by Mariangela Penha. Conceived as a rite of passage, the landscaping marks both the beginning and the end of the visit to CASACOR Ribeirão Preto. The project draws on the contrast between the “pause for the mind” and the “pulse of the heart”: at the entrance, it proposes to interrupt the noise of the street and awaken the expectation of what will be discovered; at the exit, it creates a moment to absorb the experience before returning to the city.

The connection with the region's origins takes on new contours in Terra Roxa, by Carina Rezende and Maísa Andrade. The project draws on fundamental elements of Ribeirão Preto's economic and cultural formation: the fertility of the soil, the coffee trajectory, and the old farms. These references are reinterpreted in a contemporary language, giving rise to a multifunctional home that combines residential warmth with the comfort and atmosphere of a hotel room.

The color palette itself recovers the region's identity. The tones of the upholstery and fabrics evoke the characteristic red soil, creating an organic and enveloping composition, while the wood applied to the ceiling and joinery establishes a connection with the coffee heritage and adds a sense of permanence. “It is a space where the memory of the land, the strength of history, and the duality between mind and heart come together to create warmth, contemplation, and belonging”, the professionals explain.

The city's cultural production, in turn, occupies the center of the narrative of Casa Cotrim Galeria, by Cotrim Arquitetura. Immersive and conceptual, the space invites visitors to dive into the universe of art and design through an intense and sober atmosphere. The monochromatic scheme establishes the project's visual identity, while precise points of lighting highlight works, planes, and volumes, creating depth and directing the gaze.

The artistic selection reinforces the tribute to Ribeirão Preto by bringing together names strongly linked to the city. Featured are the minimalist sculptures of Marcelo Dias, the chromatic research of Cenimar Soares, the acrylic works of José Maria Morgade, the surrealist collages of Piti Meinberg, and a triptych by Ruy Marques Ferreira. The ensemble highlights the richness of artistic production associated with the municipality and creates a bridge between different languages and generations.

Another inseparable part of Ribeirão Preto's history, coffee inspires Café da Mata, by William Gonçalves Cucco. The project brings the coffee tradition closer to the exuberance of the Brazilian forests, building a narrative that combines contemporaneity, artisanal techniques, memory, and national identity. Matter, vegetation, art, and light meet to create a sensory experience that simultaneously evokes nature and the historical roots of the region.

A protagonist in the project, the lighting casts shadows, highlights textures, and transforms the perception of the space throughout the journey. Ceramic, wood, and metal—everyday materials deeply linked to artisanal craftsmanship—are given new meaning in interventions of an artistic nature. Among them, a suspended installation evokes the roots and canopies of forests. The experience is completed between the tropical freshness and the aroma of coffee, an element that goes beyond the cup to evoke memory, culture, and an activity that helped shape the history and identity of Ribeirão Preto.
