With 92 m², the Canvas Deca project, developed by the duo Carla Cruz and Phil Pinheiro for CASACOR Minas Gerais, integrates a living room, kitchen, bar, wine cellar and spa.

Inspired by the act of hosting, the project refers to the idea of an open surface, built from different layers. Earthy tones, ceramics, wood and soft lighting help compose a cozy space to cook together, welcome friends and family, listen to music, rest and even take care of oneself.

“We didn't think of the project based on isolated functions, like kitchen and bathroom, but on complementary experiences. Canvas Deca proposes another relationship with time and with the act of hosting. Gathering, gastronomy, music and pause share the same atmosphere, with products that participate in use and do not appear only as display,” says Carla Cruz.

Since the historic PUC Minas Lourdes Building — where CASACOR Minas takes place in 2026 — is a listed heritage site, the social area preserved the original finishes. In the spa, however, the architects proposed authorial and unique work on the walls.

There, the great architectural highlight is the curation of finishes. Created by Estúdio Sala, the panel brings together Portinari products in a composition of colors, cutouts and textures. These are products from the Argilas collection and the Petra Sólida Preto Mate combined to form drawings with an organic appearance.

The panel also frames the custom-made vanity, with a built-in basin and speakers, as well as a pair of chaises.

There are also curved structures that mark the transition between the spa and the living area and help compose a more relaxing atmosphere. Although they maintain the visual continuity of the interiors, they modify the light, the scale and the sense of seclusion. Inside these structures, the spa received the Vestígios Decor Mix line, from Portinari, with a half-round shape.

“The artisanal character of architecture is essential in our work. Even using industrial materials, we seek new ways to apply them,” comments Carla. “Ceramic is no longer just a finish and starts to build the identity of the space, uniting technique, design and expression,” adds Phil.

The kitchen is also one of the important points of the space and brings together some of Deca's products designed for hosting moments. In this area, the Petra Sólida Preto sintered stone, from Portinari, adds depth to the ensemble, integrating the preparation and support surfaces.

In the living area, the curved sofas, designed by Estúdio Sala, are the central point and draw attention for the marquetry work on the structure. The low lighting and textures create a comfortable atmosphere for conversations, gatherings with music or moments of rest around the fireplace. There, a sideboard with turntables and speakers designed by the duo of architects completes the space.

“This is a space for hosting, where we would like to be. We have the sofa where we chat eye to eye, there is a bar, a wine cellar and there is always music. That is very important,” says Phil Pinheiro.

According to Marina Crocomo, Marketing and Design director at Dexco, this project reflects the connection between identity in interior architecture and the versatility of the products from the group's brands.

“Canvas Deca presents a brand that values its history and, at the same time, participates in the construction of new ways of living. The products are inserted in real experiences, linked to coexistence, hospitality and personal care,” she states.
