Chinese skyscraper features aquaponic gardens that purify the city's air
With a futuristic design and several sustainable solutions , the C Tower in Shenzhen Bay, China, is designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and aims to create a near-vertical city that will serve around 300,000 people daily in the Greater Bay Areas of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2027.

The two towers, each nearly 400 m high, will be covered in double-glazed windows with solar blinds and the building will be equipped with high-efficiency appliances and automated internal environmental controls. The green building also features photovoltaic solar panels and a water recycling system, which will reduce the consumption of natural resources.

The development will feature residential units, a transportation hub, conference and exhibition spaces, offices, shops, restaurants and a hotel. To help employees and visitors get around, an expansion of the city's subway network will run underground.
