Design for people is the premise of Nuage Promenade

Urban environments are often associated with harshness and hostility. Queues, traffic jams, clusters of houses and pollution; it is no wonder that the expression “urban jungle” is so often used. However, for many architects, urban planners and designers, the scenario could be very different. Interventions like the High Line Park in New York prove that cities can be friendly and humane.

The Nuage Promenade is a stainless steel structure permeated with organically shaped thatches of colored glass. The promenade stretches for 100 m and was designed to provide shelter, shade and charm for pedestrians.

When the Miami sun shines on the colored glass, shadows are projected onto the ground, just like on the stained glass windows of cathedrals. The entire design of the Nuage Promenade aims to integrate the walkway into its surroundings. In dialogue with the surrounding architecture, it is a great example how cities can be permeated with art without leaving urbanity behind.
