CASACOR Rio 2019: HUM Studio Leroy Merlin by Paula Neder and PN+ Collective

CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2019 is less than a month away from its opening and the participating architects, decorators and landscapers are preparing their spaces at full steam for the delight of visitors. The blog A Cor da Casa has prepared a series of preview posts about the environments of the 29th edition of the exhibition. The highlight this time is the HUM Leroy Merlin Studio, designed by Paula Neder and Coletivo PN+ in partnership with Leroy Merlin, a French chain of construction, finishing, decoration, gardening and DIY stores present in 12 countries. “We are excited about the partnership with Leroy Merlin. It’s great to work with a supplier that has everything for a project,” emphasizes Paula. The 67m2 space is inspired by a chef who lives at the Studio during her annual season in Rio de Janeiro. It is there that she – a character created by Paula – lives close to nature, smells the sea every day and finds inspiration. to develop their recipes. It is casual and chic, sophisticated and natural, just like the Studio, which has cold floors and walls, unusual use of materials, old pieces full of history and others super modern. It is a place to live, work, receive friends, get inspired, create. Paula Neder and the PN+ Collective followed a hi-lo concept where stripped-down, common items and other uses in civil construction, such as the ecological tile from Leroy Merlin that became a decorative panel - simple choices used with designer pieces, with old items , which bring the idea of affection, carefully chosen to bring personality and life to the space. The project has a unique flooring: a porcelain tile from Leroy Merlin that is reminiscent of terrazzo. “Granite has reinvented itself and is once again a highlight in architectural projects, giving it a vintage touch,” says Paula. There is also a glass block, also from Leroy Merlin, which creates a more intimate atmosphere, where greater privacy is desired, providing greater natural light in a softer and more blurred way without giving up the sophistication and design of the pieces.
