The Choque Arquitetura e Design office did not have an easy task on its hands when it participated in
CASACOR Brasília 2019. Responsible for three environments, it was up to the duo Dimitri Lociks, designer, and Simone Turíbio, architect, to create the
Facade for the exhibition at the iconic Casa da Manchete , by Oscar Niemeyer. In addition to this immense responsibility, the professionals designed two other spaces, the
Ticket Office and
Living Casapark . This year, Choque Arquitetura e Design is part of the cast of the new
Janelas CASACOR project, Brasília edition.
Welcome to visitors
The visitor's first contact with the exhibition is entirely designed by the office, and working with such a striking original construction is undoubtedly a challenge. The
façade project embraced the tradition of modern architecture, incorporating its concise and monumental language. The external areas received glass and porcelain tiles, while the façade itself received openings to allow natural light to enter, in addition to a beautiful lighting project.
Living Casapark brings together various elements, shapes and proportions in its 177 m². Simone and Dimitri have created a selection of furniture that refers to the historical aspect of the city, but which is also contemporary, following global design trends. The palette will from brown to gray, passing through shades of green and blue.
The exposed concrete is a reference to the past and modern tradition, while the gaps allude to the superquadras. The grandstand and the two openings in the façade were inspired by Burle Marx, another prominent name in modernist landscaping. These gaps function both as windows and as benches. .
On one of the walls, there are 144 personalized tiles with words that convey the idea of comfort, a creative and playful artistic installation to welcome the public. In addition, there is a hollow mirror sculpture, giving the visitor the sensation of blending into the room. Finally, a new work by Christus Nóbrega crowns the living room.
