The name, which means “dream” in French, was not chosen in vain. Its pronunciation is similar to the English word “river,” while in Chinese its meaning is “sacred pearl in the sky.” Together, these definitions symbolize and celebrate the Pearl River, which flows through more than 2,000 kilometers of territory and has been, for the last millennium, an important cultivation point for essential ingredients in local cuisine.
The Shanghai-based studio sought to bring sophistication to the interior with the Targa sofa and Wiener Stuhl chairs. The pieces, inspired by early 20th-century design, encourage intimate socializing and create a welcoming atmosphere, ideal for the country’s reopening of restaurants and shops.[newsletter]
