From the city of Tulum, on the coast of Mexico, the duo Alex Claver and Wilker Medeiros from
Studio 2 Arquitetura brought the inspiration to create the
S Dois Bathroom Room , a project that integrates the 45 environments of
CASACOR Brasília 2019 . The 70 m² space balances rustic and contemporary, in a proposal to disconnect. “With the hectic routine of big cities, we considered that an environment with well-being and comfort would be a perfect choice”, explain the architects.
A beachy look is diluted in the decorative elements, in the sand-toned porcelain tiles, in the bamboo-lined ceiling and other natural textures, such as wood and straw. The handcrafted pieces highlight the production of various regions of Mexico – the project even has a exclusive wooden sculpture by Eduardo Moraes, represented by Divino Quadro.
“Tulum is a unique place with a contagious energy, a perfect blend of rustic and contemporary. There we find unique environments, full of personality, which, combined with paradisiacal landscapes, result in a perfect setting for relaxation,” they say. In line with sustainability concepts, the office chose Lyptus reforested wood for the bathroom door. In addition, the hyper-realistic wood and straw cladding reinforces the space's coastal style.
