CASACOR SP 2018: a contemporary look at Brazilian roots

Suite Arquitetos went deep into the theme of The Living House to design the Renault Tree House at CASACOR São Paulo 2018. The space marks the trio's second consecutive participation in the show. Carolina Mauro, Daniela Frugiuele and Filipe Troncon celebrated ten years of partnership bringing a contemporary look to Brazilian roots in the space.

"Living alive" was the starting point for professionals to build a complete house in every sense, full of Brazilian identity - inspired by flora and fauna, with its natural riches, such as rough stones and rustic textures.

The decor was composed of works by great names in Brazilian design. In the living room, iconic pieces such as the Presidential armchair by Jorge Zalszupin, the sinuous Marquesa , by Oscar Niemeyer, and the screen, designed by Etel Carmona, as well as the armchair by Walter Knoll for Casual, lend elegance to the space. The modular sofa, made with fabrics such as jute and cotton, was designed by the trio of architects for Suite Design, especially to integrate with the areas of the space.

With 280 m², the Tree House highlights the integration of the interior with the exterior of the space, connecting the resident with nature. An imposing Flamboyant tree incorporated into the living area stands out as it crosses the height of the house. It is the tree that, from the colors of the trunk and the green crown, it establishes the tone of the palette of the prevailing nuances of the decoration.

The geometry of the house is marked by a large wooden volume that houses the social area, fully integrated with the garden. Different coverings demarcate the transition between the environments. European oak covers the bedroom. A special textured paint covers the bookcase, covered with the panel of watercolor in earthy tones, created by visual artists Adriana and Carlota.

In the kitchen, a soapstone serves as a countertop. Incorporating the sink is a cooktop and oven, which is aligned with the dining table, also in light tones, accompanied by a pair of moss green chairs.

Highlighting the mashrabiya woodwork panel, which gives the impression of dissolution as small open squares reveal the garden landscape behind the space.
