CASACOR Goiás 2015: wood evokes Brazilianness in the exhibition

Loft 01 - Ana Paula de Castro and Sanderson Porto - The 68m² house a family reading room with a balcony feel. The professionals chose wood as the main raw material, present in the exclusive joinery and loose furniture designed by designers such as Hugo França, Zanine Caldas and Maria Cândida Machado. The wood even appears in the lining, in plates that contrast with the “L” shaped plaster, painted with PVA paint. Neobamboo was used in the layout, an ecological and sustainable covering, which matches the other materials that characterize the project, such as leather and equally natural fibers. Other elements come into play to complement, such as the wall covered with Rockface bricks and a corten steel niche.

Master Bedroom - Fernando Parrode - The space emphasizes geometric shapes, especially in the stained glass windows located on the sides of the bed, made exclusively by stained glass artist Duda Bada. The element is part of the lighting design and summarizes the color palette followed, which highlights shades of blue in the details – such as in the prints of the fabrics made especially for the project. The professional also incorporated modern resources, such as the black vinyl flooring made of PVC, which optimizes thermal and acoustic comfort and is water resistant, and an automation system that can be controlled by smartphones, tablets and even the brand new Apple Watch.

Master Bathroom - Alessandra Lobo - The brickwork and mica shine on the walls bring a touch of rusticity, while the gold-framed mirrors and free-standing furniture evoke the classic. Modernity is present in the Deca metals with D.Coat technology, which are resistant to abrasion, and in the automation of the space – TV, temperature, sound, blinds and lighting are controlled by smartphone. The floor is made of porcelain that imitates the veins of the blue Boquira stone. Another highlight is the Discocó pendant, by the German Christophe Mathieu, which lights up the bathtub.

Baby's Room - Sâmella Cardoso and Gustavo Freitas - The 15 m² room brings different inspirations on the theme of precious stones. Notice, for example, the carved feet of the crib. The duo also reinvented the shelf above the dresser, which resembles a swing and is suspended with ropes. The paper used as covering on the walls resembles fabric, making the space even more cozy. The plaster work on the moldings, which runs from the walls to the ceiling, allows for a diffused and soft light.

Home Office - Andréia Spessatto Baratto and Náira Sá - The home office has the feel of a living and reading room, thanks to the beach style and the use of colors that break the sobriety, such as the blue that washes the wallpaper and the red in the joinery. The piece of furniture, in fact, houses a taxidermied peacock. Part of the ceiling was covered in reforested wood, inspired by one of the Campana Brothers' best-known armchairs.

Teenager's Room - Ozair Riazo - The wardrobe reflected in the palatial mirror was found in an antique store. The headboard of the bed, in turn, is made from a garden shelf, illuminated and punctuated by decorative objects, leaning against the wall covered in turquoise blue mica. To create a discreet contrast, the ceiling was covered in raw wallpaper, with golden nuances and a 3D effect reminiscent of sisal. The bed has a custom-made Provencal lace bedspread.

TV Room - Larissa Maffra and Marina Bastos - Sober and woody tones predominate in the architects' project, who reserved the most striking colors for the accessories and works of art. The sofa with chaise longue guarantees comfort with its generous dimensions. To improve the acoustic quality of the space, the strategy was to overlap two rugs. The lighting project is specific and flexible, with a special mention for the pendant light by Dutch designer Sylvie Meuffels.

Boy's Room - Ana Paula Munhoz and Gabriella Saback - The atmosphere was relaxed and urban with the closet and niches worked in gray microtexture and yellow details. The walls feature linen textured wallpaper and silver tile coverings. The floor is entirely made of porcelain, with the exception of the deck covered in semi-artisan carpet, which raises the bed. The armchair by designer Tadeu Paisan is inserted into the space to assert its contemporary style.

The Boy's Bathroom - Wânia Simão - To give the impression that the 7.29m² space is larger, the solution was to use white with a modern interpretation and a variety of materials. The coverings feature geometric patterns and relief, as applied to the wall. The flooring is brushed marble, which also appears on the sink countertop designed by the architect. The lighting design combines fiber optics with a starry sky effect in the shower area and crystal lighting that shines on the countertop, in addition to the use of LEDs, spotlights and mini-lasers.

Dining Room - André Brandão and Márcia Varizo - The architects opted for a raw decoration, based on porcelain with the appearance of concrete in maxi size format, which makes up the layout of the 35m². Two of the walls and the ceiling were covered in cut ACM, with a design by André Brandão and Márcia Varizo. On another wall, entire sheets of Roman travertine marble were applied. This backdrop enhances the Jet dining table, by designer Guilherme Torres, accompanied by DAAV chairs, by Sérgio Rodrigues. The set is governed by the Copernicus pendant, by the Italians Carlotta de Bevilacqua and Paolo Dell'Elce. For drinks afterwards, the Alta and Marquesa armchairs by Oscar Niemeyer create a lounge, which has the luxurious support of Bar Totó, by Isay Weinfeld.

Cozinha da Mãe Joana - Pedro Paulo do Rego Luna, Lais Haydée and Thiago Siquieroli - The central island in the space allows people to interact while preparing food. A large table is its extension, with seating for 13 guests, extending to the outside of the space to the garden. Around it, stools and chairs designed by Marcelo Rosenbaum. Innovation and hygiene were prioritized in the cabinets with stainless steel doors, in the Cristaldur sinks with antibacterial finish and in the black porcelain floor, which is non-slip and easy to clean – the material is also applied to one of the walls, while the others receive only a layer of mortar. The 90-inch TV, the largest in Brazil, guarantees entertainment. Speaking of technology, a set of ceiling lights of different heights and colors makes for an irreverent composition.

Studio Mariotto - Doriselma Mariotto - The 60m² area has become a multipurpose space for reading, watching movies, listening to music and chatting. Natural materials predominate, such as wood in the custom-made carpentry and exposed stone on the walls. Indirect lighting focuses on intimacy and plays an important role, infiltrated in niches and wall lights that redesign the space. The low furniture facilitates conversation, with loose pieces that allow people to gather in various configurations.

Wine Confraternity - Fátima Mesquita and Márcia Albiéri - The interior designers divided the space into two areas. The living room has a generous sofa, ideal for chatting, while the opposite side has a carpenter's table for tastings. It is lit by twenty pendant lights, which create a visual match with the pergola. The reforested wood flooring gives unity to the space, which has one of its walls covered in volcanic stone, whose shades of gray are cited in several details of the project.

Café - Nando Nunes - The interior designer had French cafés in mind when defining the project. But there is no literal reproduction of the Parisian style. Here, iron chairs are combined with animal skins, angel wings and crocheted chandeliers, seeking to invest in the diversity of materials and textures while maintaining a clear base. There is room for Japanese influences, such as in the origami mosaic with geometric designs.

Lavabo do Café - Andreia de Sousa Carneiro e Silva - The space is 9.88 m², and the interior designer's idea was to promote maximum coziness through the use of rustic materials. An LED strip runs the length of the marble countertop, highlighting the brick wall, while the porcelain floor imitates wood. Natural wood – the choice was freijó – enhances the partitions.

Praça das Águas - Ricardo Lima and Roberto Lima - The 130m² space combines large vertical gardens and ornamental lakes with colorful carp. The landscaper duo themselves developed the fiberglass structure that defines the finish of the gardens. With the project's sustainability in mind, the space also features cement with a demolition wood texture throughout the ramp and stairs. Five pieces by the Goiás artist Luiz Olinto, in plasma-cut metal and electrostatic paint in white, were created exclusively and are distributed throughout the setting.

Excuse me, Mr. Poteiro! - Regina Amaral - The project pays homage to the painter, sculptor and ceramist Antônio Batista de Souza, known as Antônio Poteiro. The dialogue between the contemporary and the origins of Goiás is developed through the use of wood, either reused or from reforestation. The vinyl floor and ceiling dialogue with the ceramic coverings made by Américo Poteiro himself, whose tone guides the palette of natural and warm colors of the ambiance. Another wall was enhanced with a rustic panel in reclaimed wood, bringing the visitor even closer to the local nature. Upholstery in raw fabrics adds elegance and reinforces the style of the project.

Studio 24 - Bruno Veras and Juliano Costa - The 51m² studio, with a warehouse-like feel, integrates the functions of a small apartment: kitchen/dining room, living room/TV area and bathroom. The furniture and decorations are carefully selected, with highlights including the Pixel Monalisa cabinet, brought from Italy, and the Prop Light pendant lamp by Dutch designer Moooi. The living room is more comfortable with generous upholstery and the Balonê pouf by designer Flávia Pagotti. Walls covered with ceramic brick sockets from demolition create an industrial backdrop, confirmed by the wooden cement floor. The wooden pergola on the ceiling dilutes the lighting and contributes to the intimacy.

Private - Meire Santos - The environment is designed to be free and permeable to all styles. The designer explored shapes, designs and textures, choosing nature as the highlight. Shades of orange and wooden details also punctuate and warm the white and beige base, which allows elements such as marble designed in an unusual way by the professional to stand out.

Studio Barroco - Alexandre Milhomem - To evoke the historic city of Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais, the professional evoked the nobility and refined aesthetics of the 17th century. The scene features elaborate frames on classically designed wallpapers, imported crystal chandeliers, gold and silver leaf details, as well as classic rugs and vintage furniture. Modern finishes are added to balance the look, such as leather and washed wood on the furniture and velvet on the curtains. The wood-look flooring is actually synthetic. Finally, there are works by visual artist Elsa Elvas and other national artists.

Doctor's Studio - Cláudio Múcio and Márcia Carvalho - Coziness defines the ambiance, which is distributed over 52m². The walls are covered in either bricks, freijó fillets or textured wallpaper. On the floor, wooden carpets and glazed porcelain tiles in a cement tone alternate. The carpentry is made of fendi-toned lacquer and black-blonde wood, while chairs and armchairs are upholstered in velvet, leather and natural linen, with a result that exudes comfort. Also note the straw partitions that create a sense of movement and maintain the fluidity between the spaces.

Family Room - Adriana Mundim and Fernando Rocha Galvão - In the center of the 52m² space, two large sofas come together to form a nest. The large countertop in rustic gray Ice Armani marble is accompanied by a series of smoked glass lamps. Perfect for the family chef who wants to prepare a quick snack, which can be enjoyed at the round table, with Cantú chairs, by Sergio Rodrigues. Above, the Móbile Light G pendant stands out, as does the ceiling with different volumes and planes. The artist from Goiás, Marcus Camargo, freehanded the design on the largest wall. On the back wall, a wallpaper similar to faded leather in brown was applied.

Restaurant - Anna Paula Melo - The environments designed on 126m² are fully integrated with nature – and a leafy tree that existed in the house served as a starting point for the design and sectorization of the project. Large glass openings connect internal and external spaces, and the sky is the guest of honor, through the skylight located in the center of the restaurant. Supported by reforestation wood scissors, Sunguard laminated glass allows light to pass through without absorbing heat and several glass bottle pendants descend from the structure. The refinement is also in details such as the velvet curtains, while the artisanal touch appears in the macramé pillows and bronze mosaics.

Resort Lounge - W. Leão Ogawa and Heitor Arrais - The flow of water was given a geometric translation in metal, becoming the key element of the project. Other materials used in their natural form were exposed concrete, white cement flooring, black marble and wood. Wood is also the basis for the designer furniture, such as the Atibaia bench by Paulo Alves; the São Paulo chair by Carlos Motta; and the stools by Fernando Mendes. Plants such as rosemary and mint bring a touch of freshness.

Refúgio do Mato - Ednara Martins and Flavio Paraguassú (in memoriam) - The identity of the project is defined by the mix of references, such as irregular stones, the fabric developed by artists Cristiane and Lorrane Valim – applied to the wall – and the colorful collection of prints. The Serra Pelada dining table, designed by Roque Frizzo and featured at the last Milan Furniture Fair, is made of stainless steel, glass and wood, inspired by Brazilian gold mining.

Sensory Bathroom - Fabíola Fleury Naoum and Wilker Godoi - Supplier: Deca - The space is spacious, measuring 34m², and the space was used to promote greater contact with nature. Visitors are greeted with an exclusive aroma and the sound of waterfalls. Marble is present in the mosaic on the walls, on the vintage-polished countertops and on the skirting boards inside the private cabins, which are delimited by natural wood slats and overlook the vertical garden. Mirrors are also omnipresent and cover the back wall, in addition to appearing on the washbasins as magic mirrors. The water mirror is made of raw Hijau stone. Another striking detail is the Deca Gold Matte gold metals.

Drink Time - Ana Maria Miller - The architect translates her version of Brazilianness into the presence of vegetation, the warm color palette, with an emphasis on red and yellow, as well as the seats and backrests of the armchairs and chairs, upholstered in custom fabrics that refer to the national fauna and flora. A wooden portico divides the spaces without compromising integration. In the background, you can see the bar counter made of Dekton stone, known for its beauty and functionality.

Square - Pedro Paulo Cavalcante and Carolina Silveira - The duo had 340m² at their disposal and opted to create a versatile and dynamic space, with great mobility of the layout elements. Vases and flower boxes, some laser-cut and joined with robotic welding, were designed to be moved around. A highlight is the Tangram flower box, developed by the professionals, inspired by the ancient oriental puzzle, and which allows infinite designs to be formed by alternating the pieces. Influences from the tropical and desert gardens are combined in species such as the Bamboo Arecas – original to the house and maintained –, Cordyline masses and the Euphorbia “Diamond Frost”, a new addition to the market. The flooring is the White Polished Non-Slip Terratzo, which highlights the LED lighting and the furniture by Irmãos Campana, from the Estrela Collection, launched at this year's Milan Salon.

Empório Sebrae - Eliane Mendonça - The craft store highlights the production of Goiás products with an elegant touch of gold, present in the wallpapers. The castor tone was chosen for the furniture, which alternates between reclaimed wood and white patina. Straight lines and the occasional use of glass contribute to the lightness and seek to highlight the items on display as much as possible. Several of them were organized on the shelves on white microtexture panels with built-in lighting. Among the panels, the weaving work of artisan Roberto Bastos stands out.

Ice Cream Shop - Mariela Romano - Designed to be fun and refreshing, the space is defined by the colorful fabrics on the awning and the overlays applied to the interior walls. The furniture features chairs and benches designed by Índio da Costa, which explore the vibrant color palette. The rest is white, to balance the result. The lighting design includes the use of indirect lighting from coves, a mix of ceiling lights and LED lighting that focuses on the details, as well as built-in floor lamps and spotlights on the outside.

Office - Cynara de Siqueira and Karina de Siqueira - Suppliers: Alberflex, Interface - The floor was covered with tiles of the same type used in theaters and auditoriums, which are an option for corporate environments. In this 45m² space without partitions, Alberflex tables, which are ergonomic allies, as well as Herman Miller chairs and armchairs, were distributed. A small living room is demarcated by the geometric rug, which houses the Fritz Hansen armchair and the Deluse side tables. The ambiance is complemented by a selection of pieces signed by designers: Jatobá bookcase, by Etel Carmona; Niño bookcase, by Henrique Steyer; 22 Tauary bookcase, by Paulo Alves; Cruz bookcase, by Adress; Thork magazine rack, by Jader Almeida.

[garden] FROM BRAZIL - João Paulo Florentino - The project converts the 63m² into an environment rich in shapes, textures and colors of the national flora. The vegetation combines tropical plants, with different types of foliage and vibrant colors. The rustic atmosphere is reinforced by the castelatto floor and the Astúria rocking chairs, designed by Carlos Motta. A waterfall was created from oxidized carbon sheets, joined together with welding, which conducts the water to the tank lined with Hitam stone.

Adventurer's Studio - Giovanni Borges - In 100m², the architect distributed a gourmet space, living room, garage and even a SPA with swimming pool, proposing a corner dedicated to a natural lifestyle. Hence the option for a light and lean color palette, which emphasizes earthy tones, green, blue, gray and black. One of the stone walls received lighting that highlights the rustic appearance. But it is the wood without changes to the original tone that is the protagonist – whether as a decorative element on the ceiling and floor, or in the furniture designed by Brazilian designers, such as Sergio Rodrigues.

Balcony - Genésio Maranhão - The interior designer created an expanded version of one of the house's favorite spots, using the area as a living room and gourmet space. Wood and exposed bricks are the basis of a warm ambiance, highlighted by the selection of contemporary Brazilian furniture that interacts with the tropical garden. Natural fabrics and lighting that enhances the texture of the materials complete the experience.

"Sala Leo” - Leo Romano - The world of children provided the inspiration for this original project. The 80m² space was covered in wood, and the edges of this box were painted black, with the aim of creating neutrality. The idea was to highlight pieces such as the sofa by the Edra brand, the objects designed by Iêda Jardim and the pieces developed by the professional artist himself, such as the doll pendants. Artwork by Adriana Duque, Loreta Lux and Oleg Dou rounded off the look.

Intimate Room - Camila Braga - The 36m² circulation space was transformed into an environment where you can listen to music, see photographs and feel close to works of art. The architect bet on coverings with graphic appeal, both in the wallpaper and in the stones applied irregularly on one of the walls. Leather is present in the upholstery and defines the masculine and intimate identity of the project.

The 2015 CASACOR season is officially open! The largest architecture, decoration and landscaping exhibition in the Americas debuts in the capital of Goiás, where it reaches its 19th edition. From May 15th to June 24th, the Anis Rassi Mansion brings together 37 environments designed by 56 architecture, decoration and landscaping professionals, displaying trends that speak to CASACOR 's great inspiration for this year: Brazilianness. The country is always remembered for having a light, happy, diverse and charming lifestyle , which is increasingly recognized and valued. In a large part of the 3500 m² of CASACOR Goiás , what you see are environments that identify with this way of living and with nature, whether in sustainable solutions or in the choice of raw materials. Wood imposes itself in different ways, lining ceilings and composing trusses, evoked in the layout, warming walls, serving as the basis for well-thought-out joinery and for furniture signed by designers who update Made in Brazil . The material also inspires a neutral and warm color palette, with many browns, beiges, caramel and chocolate, which provide a certain continuity between the exhibition's environments. Also keep an eye on walls with exposed stones, bricks, concrete and graphic coverings. Another popular feature are the hollow and laser-cut elements used in partitions, shelves and even on the ceiling, in dialogue with the indirect effects of lighting. In addition to Brazilianness, the main idea is comfort, well represented in these and other trends, which you can see now in the image gallery.
