Step Inside Model Cara Delevingne's Extravagant and Fun LA Home

Cara Delevingne is a super fun model, full of attitude and style, so her home would be no different! Designed by architect Nicolò Bini , the inspiration for the décor comes from far-flung places, from “Alice in Wonderland” to the style of of Hugh Hefner and his famous Playboy Mansion. “My job requires me to wear a lot of different hats and costumes. I love slipping into these different characters, so I wanted my home to reflect a lot of different themes and moods,” Delevingne told Architectural Digest.

The property dates back to 1940 and was originally very “black and white” , according to Cara, so, to bring more life and joy to the house, the model went all out with an extravagant décor .

The project can be divided into two categories: first, nature , explained in countless design gestures. Walls covered in a Gucci wallpaper of giant herons, carpets with snake and leopard prints, bird sculptures by Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante, as well as ferns, palm trees, topiaries and other houseplants.

Second, there is the fun and games theme, represented by a poker and arcade room, a room with pole dancing bars, a costume room for parties, a ball pit and a space for music. “If I’m having a bad day, I just jump in the ball pit. You can’t really cry in a ball pit,” jokes the model.

Despite all the quirky accessories and settings – the Chanel surfboard, the David Bowie memorial bathroom, the Chemical X fly sculpture made of thousands of ecstasy pills suspended in acrylic – Cara Delevingne insists that her home is more than just simply a sophisticated theme park.

“It still feels like home. There’s a proper dining and living room and a great kitchen , but it’s also a bit of a journey. The deeper you go into the house, the more treasures you discover,” says the model.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the renovation is the fact that Delevingne and Bini kept much of the previous owner's furniture , an unlikely prospect given the look of the previous decor.

New upholstery treatments, bespoke details, fresh paint and some strategic architectural additions have completely transformed the spirit of the furniture and rooms.

“It would be a waste to throw it all away. A lot of times, sustainability just means working with what you have,” Delevingne notes. “The big crystal chandelier in the living room wasn’t really my style, so we put a disco ball in the middle of it.” of it and we add colored lights.
