Cabin: works of art ennoble refuge at CASACOR São Paulo 2018
Thinking about the desire to bring nature into the home, Thiago Manarelli and Ana Paula Guimarães designed the Cabin at CASACOR São Paulo 2018. With 60 m², the house, built from scratch, could be either on the beach or in the countryside, a contemporary refuge. of universal language. The cabin has a complete living area, dining room and kitchen. “Everything is easy to maintain so that the house is effortless and only provides pleasant moments,” says Manarelli. Built in just 18 days, the structure was made of steel, using a steel frame system, with plasterboard and metal tiles, making it a clean and sustainable construction. Upon entering the space, visitors are faced with a concrete wall that imitates stone, which gives a rustic look to the space. The space offers a new take on the Scandinavian way of living, with light tones and a touch of romanticism from the floral fabrics on the curtains, as well as the rug with graphics and striking tones, and the bamboo covering. The works of art stand out and harmonize perfectly with the style of the room. On the stone wall of the living area, one of the collages by São Paulo native Arthur Piza. On the same wall, on the other side of the room, there are two more pieces by Piza and a painting by Marcelo Gusman. The space also houses a sculpture garden designed by Nara Ota. In the dining room, next to the head of the Armoriarte Gallery, the painting by Rio de Janeiro artist Edith Behring. The duo selected furniture pieces to create a composition rich in design with Brazilian and international items. The light blue sofa contrasts with the banana leaf pouf, brought from Costa do Sauipe, on the northern coast of Bahia, and the stone coffee table. and the imposing leather armchair, designed by Brazilian designers from the Mula Preta studio. Natural light bathes the cabin, which is divided into two areas: on one side, the TV room and, on the other, the gourmet wing formed by a mini kitchen and a dining table with a concrete base and chairs in a burnt pink tone. On both sides, the cabinets, always white, have doors with delicate latticework, reminiscent of mashrabiya. Thiago Manarelli and Ana Paula Guimarães present the theme of CASACOR 2018 ,The Living House , in pots with plants of the species staghorn, brilliantine and coleus, supported by decorative totems, they stand out like true works of art, and on the terrace a careful selection of fruit trees brings the essence of nature.
