Sophisticated details are everywhere at
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2018 , even on the floor. That's right! The choice of flooring used in the rooms is the subject that
A Cor da Casa highlights for this article. After all, they help to set the tone of the room, in the choice of material, color and texture used. “Today's floors imitate wood, without being the material,” says Patricia Mayer, franchisee of the Rio de Janeiro show, about the sustainability trend found in the show whose theme is
A Casa Viva .
Marcia and Manu Müller, mother and daughter architects who designed
Sala Carioca , followed this trend. They used concrete planks, a practical, resistant, elegant and contemporary option. “Burnt cement has a special charm and a beautiful color,” says Manu. The chosen flooring is made of cement in the form of wood, and in this way the wood grains are imprinted on the plank, creating the effect of gray wood. “It helped to bring a floor unit to the space that, in addition to enlarging the space, makes it harmonious,” concludes Marcia.
In
Living Sage , by Bianca da Hora, the choice of flooring was part of the creative process to design the space. Note: the architect used the covering on both the floor and the ceiling. “Yes, we used wood on the floor and ceiling to give the space a cozy feel!” explains the architect.
Beta Arquitetura partners Bernardo Gaudie-Ley and Tânia Braga, who designed the
Alecrim Kitchen , incorporated several retro references into the project. All of the kitchen's cabinetry is lacquered in a mint green tone, elegant and fresh, in partnership with fashion designer Isabela Capeto. The flooring combines parquet and hydraulic tiles in a corner of the kitchen, and for the most part, they used laminate flooring, which brings back the long, noble wooden floors.
In the
Bookstore and Reading Room , owned by Hannah Brauer, Regina Prior and Bianca Prior, the floor, walls, shelves and central reading bench are covered with sustainable wood panels. On the floor, they use click vinyl, which is resistant, easy to clean and made with products that do not cause allergies.

At
Vista Bar and Lounge , designed by architect Paula Neder, Coletivo PN and landscaper Viviane Menescal, the option was to maintain the original flooring of the beautiful property in Glória. “We decided to keep the original flooring, which is intact and has an off-white checkers design, which was completely integrated into the concept of the Bistro,” says Paula Neder. “In addition, using, maintaining and restoring are key words in the focus on sustainability.”
