Transforming a reduced floor plan into a welcoming retreat full of personality was the central focus of this project signed by the studio Neto Cunha Arquitetura, part of the CASACOR Bahia lineup. Located in the charming neighborhood of Horto Florestal, in Salvador, BA, the apartment of just 32 sqm was tailor-made for a doctor who was fulfilling the dream of her first home. Facing an intense routine marked by long shifts, the resident's great desire was to find at home a place of pause and reconnection — a space that combined rest, lightness, and functionality.

The main challenge of the intervention was to accommodate a complete program of needs without compromising circulation or aesthetics. The answer came through an intelligent reading of the original floor plan: the balcony, which previously had independent access from the living room and the bedroom, was fully integrated with the interior projects. This decision expanded the social area and the bedroom, allowing the layout to be redesigned in a fluid and continuous way.

The reorganization of the space brought the project's biggest surprise: making the closet feasible, an element desired by the client that seemed unviable for the floor area. Strategically positioned before the bedroom entrance, the new space also serves as a passage hall to the bathroom and the private area. Its doors ensure discretion, keeping the visual reading always organized and clean.

In the social area, the great highlight is the suspended dining table made of brushed Valentino marble. Designed with a pre-molded metallic structure built into the low wall of the kitchen island, the piece gives the sensation of floating in the space. Its organic design without sharp edges makes it easier to walk around and reinforces the contemporary language of the decor.

The palette of materials prioritizes tactile texture and the feeling of warmth. The walls received the soft tone Recado de Amor, by Coral, over the existing light gray neutral flooring. The cabinetry plays a fundamental role in zoning the spaces, using different wood tones to delimit functions.
