Located in the Alphaville gated community, in Belo Horizonte (MG), this house is the embodiment of contemporary residential architecture that challenges traditional standards. Developed over a year of design work by the Lucas Lage Arquitetura studio (from the CASACOR Minas Gerais lineup), the residence of approximately 600 sqm was built from scratch to translate the lifestyle of a young couple with two small children.

The residents' wish was clear: a fully functional, fluid house, free of the obvious — a retreat that, in the client's own words, "wouldn't look like a house, but that would later feel like home." The result is a dwelling in which the projects blend into one another and family togetherness takes the leading role.

On the ground floor, the architectural concept prioritizes absolute integration and constant dialogue between interior and exterior. The main entrance leads to a fluid hall that continuously connects the living room, dining room and home cinema to the gourmet area. This visual sequence naturally extends to the outdoor area, a true leisure oasis composed of a pool, spa and a cozy fireplace.

To enable this spaciousness without compromising day-to-day comfort, the project tackled the technical challenge of zoning and air-conditioning the large integrated kitchen. The strategic installation of HVAC systems ensured noise and odor control in an imperceptible way, preserving the visual cleanliness of the whole.

The materiality of the house balances sobriety and warmth through a neutral, natural palette. Gray tones on the floors and walls provide a modern base, while the expressive use of wood and natural stones warms up the projects. The joinery takes on the role of a continuous architectural element: the slatted ceiling and vertical panels not only conceal the light fixtures and air-conditioning grilles with technical precision, but also enhance the perception of height and improve acoustics. In the kitchen, the cabinets with straight lines and a light finish work as a subtle counterpoint to the strong presence of wood, highlighting the grandeur of the stone countertop.

The furniture curation exalts Brazilian authorial design and transforms each project into a wellness gallery. In the living room, the iconic Jangada Armchair, by Sergio Rodrigues, coexists harmoniously with the White Oval Sofa from +55 Design. At the dining table, the pure lines of the Tubo Chair, by Wentz Design, set the contemporary tone, while the staircase hall gains the relaxed charm of the Cobra Coral Chair, by Sergio Matos.

The home cinema embraces coziness with the robust Fardos Armchair, by Ricardo Fasanello, accompanied by a custom-designed wine cellar created by the architect himself. Even the couple's bathroom receives a masterful touch with the Girafa Chair, signed by Juliana Vasconcellos.

Going up to the second floor, the residence reveals its more intimate and reserved side, resolved through an intelligent circulation that avoids excessively long corridors. The suites are distributed in a balanced manner, culminating in the generous master suite. Equipped with a spacious closet and a bathing area, the couple's bedroom opens onto a private balcony facing the back of the lot, framing the permanent view of the environmental preservation area.

The landscaping, signed by Nagela Aud Paisagismo, embraces the construction and perfectly stitches the transition between the architecture and the surrounding nature.
