The presence of animals in decoration is not exactly new, but at CASACOR São Paulo 2026 this repertoire appeared with a variety that draws attention. Instead of prints or isolated decorative pieces, the animals took center stage in furniture, art and ornamentation — shaping the seat of a bench, printed on the ceiling of a room or lending form to a functional object. In the Living Ritmo Vital, by MAAI Arquitetura Integrada, benches shaped like an anteater and a capybara appear in an 83 m² space divided between living room, bar and powder room, signed by the trio Arnaldo Pinho, Mônica Pinto and Isabel Veiga. The proposal of the space is to use architecture to reorient the body to a more regulated state, and for that reason the architects chose natural and porous materials — straw on the walls and ceiling, wood and marble —, all with the function of dampening noise and balancing the stimuli of the projects.

In the Casa Memórias Essenciais, by Felipe de Almeida, a sheep-shaped bench composes the maximalist repertoire of a loft with a barn-like atmosphere. In the 115 m² distributed among living room, office, game room, linear kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, the interior designer brings together the mansion's large windows, exposed roof trusses, dark millwork and floral wallpapers, mixing references such as Ralph Lauren, farm house, classic, contemporary and boho.

In the Casa Pulsante TIM, by Léo Shehtman Arquitetura e Design, a horse head comes into play in an 84 m² loft where marsala-toned millwork dominates the hall, living room and kitchen. For the architect, this chromatic choice adds rigor and control to introspection and warmth — a dramatic backdrop that the animal piece helps to punctuate, alongside materials such as stone, wood and fabrics that bring texture and humanity to the ensemble.

In the Lounge Mi Corazón, by Michele Wharton, a peacock painted on the ceiling crowns a 30 m² living room inspired by the emotional memory of the designer, daughter of Panamanians. "I dove into the time when the house pulsed as an extension of emotions," says Michele. The fresco — which evokes protection, wisdom, love, royalty and power — dialogues with Persian rugs, Chinese porcelain, cloisonné vases and references from Latin American culture, such as the embroidered molas of Panama and the polleras transformed into art.

At Pira Sesá - Olho de Peixe, by Hugo Ribas Arquitetura, a bench in the colors of the coral snake is part of the furniture designed by architect and designer Paulo Alves in this 139 sqm patio, the final point of the CASACOR São Paulo 2026 route. Built on a raised deck among 20 untouched trees of Parque da Água Branca, the space was conceived to provide rest and to bring together commissioned works by Manaus-born artist Auá Mendes, of the Mura people — also functioning as a meeting point for conversation circles of the Museu das Culturas Indígenas, an institution that partners with the exhibition.
