In the 2019 edition of
CASACOR São Paulo , Praça das Artes by Roberto Riscala plays an important role. The space occupies an axis that connects various areas of the exhibition, becoming a place of coexistence and a strategic break on the visitor's journey. “I thought of a nice, tropical square to sit and contemplate. And also to be a moment of leisure, taking advantage of art, inspiration, plants, smells, colors and light”, summarizes the landscape architect, in his 26th
participation in
CASACOR . The first element that catches your eye is the abundant composition of tropical plants, even more valued against the white walls. One of them is formed by cement cobogós, designed by Zanini de Zanine. Which already draws attention to the ubiquity of art and design. The eye also finds striking pieces covered in geometric tiles. There are benches and even totems with cell phone sockets that become works of art for visitors to enjoy.

The inspiration comes from the masterful creations of the artist Athos Bulcão, with the application of panels and tiles in the buildings of Brasília, in the 1960s. His vision that integrated art and architecture is evident in Praça das Artes, as well as in the abstract graphics. And it also awakens to the accessible and urban nature of art, which can be functional and shared with a larger public, in the open air, in addition to galleries and museums.
The floor also does not go unnoticed. The cement slabs form a layout with recurring triangles, alternating black and white. Fiber chairs are ideal for outdoor environments. In addition to a permanent invitation to rest and contemplate this encounter between nature, art and architecture.
