Maurício Arruda + Tidelli: At MADE, Tidelli presents a space in partnership with Mauricio Arruda, who is launching the Quintal Armchair - a reinterpretation of the classic of Brazilian vernacular design. Variations of a tubular iron armchair model with colored plastic tube covering, generally known as the Spaghetti Armchair, can be found throughout almost all of Brazil. The affective memory resulted in the piece created by the professional for the brand. The combination of the lightweight aluminum structure with the resistant nautical rope allowed the creation of a contemporary armchair with numerous finishes, which values our culture and the semi-artisanal process so characteristic of contemporary Brazilian design.

The multimedia installation, in partnership with NOS Furniture, involves lights and sounds and attracts the public to the location, causing a kind of hypnosis. Pessuto Landscaping + WV Design : During CASACOR São Paulo 2017 , landscaper Ricardo Pessuto launched his career in the world of design with the Catuaba bench, a partnership between the professional and WV Design. The piece is multifunctional and versatile, with up to four different functions, and was named after the wood used to make the piece. It was such a success at the São Paulo show that his benches can also be seen at MADE.

Planting Ideas + LAO Design: Taking nature as inspiration, the trio proposes a line of furniture for outdoor areas that mixes plants with the shapes of crystals. The armchair is constructed using a visually permeable prismatic metallic structure that allows the creation of an internal landscape. The collective also brought to the exhibition a line of rugs made of silk and jute, which also transform into prisms, gaining new functions and ways of use. Another new addition to the studio is the Preguiça Armchair, made from a special concrete that is just 2 cm thick, but is resistant and durable.

SUITE DESIGNL: For MADE 2017, the studio presents two collections. LINE was created from all the simplicity of drawing a line. Sometimes it runs straight, sometimes it turns like a circle and sometimes it hangs. ARESTA arose from the interest in urban industrial aesthetics that brings apparent structures and installations as the culmination of formal simplification for the benefit of practicality and function. In this collection, the composition of the pieces takes place based on a metallic structure that relates to plans and shapes and resolves functions with elegance.

F.Studio: Three pieces stand out at the studio's booth: the PLANA bookcase, the GRID stool and the AMBULANTE cart. Inspired by the coffee carts in the city of Salvador, Bahia, the piece can be used as a drinks cart, a bookshelf, or a support in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or living room. Created with the idea of being a multifunctional piece of furniture, the user can explore and re-signify the use of the AMBULANTE to suit their needs. With a seat made of wavy mesh (grid) and a solid iron structure, the GRID is based on an adaptation of an element from the urban imagination (the grid - wavy mesh) and creates relationships of permeability, light and shadow. PLANA was born from a composition of lines, shapes, volumes and different materials that configure a complex structure of voids. When organized, as in a building, they create a stable structure ready to be inhabited by the user.

The fifth edition of MADE (Mercado.Arte.Design), conceived and curated by Waldick Jatobá, in partnership with Bruno Simões, will take place between August 9th and 13th in its new home: the Bienal Pavilion, in Ibirapuera Park. This year, the fair will break the record for exhibitors: there are more than one hundred, both national and international. In 2017, MADE ’s main theme is “Weave,” which emphasizes the connection between materials, shapes and the manual creation of different design pieces. In this regard, the fair pays tribute to and presents the work of South Korean designer Kwangho Lee, who was elected designer of the year and explores the creative process of furniture made with PVC threads.

Still on the theme of the edition, the fair promotes the exhibition "Tramas", in partnership with INK Incorporadora, and presents a selection of 20 pieces, from vintage to contemporary, clearly showing the designer's hand.
The event also features Paper MADE – a space where paper is the creative support for all artists launched last year, and a new exhibition area: Hand MADE , which values the design and production of original objects and accessories. In addition, CASACOR 's team has a strong presence at the fair, exhibiting their work and new collections, such as Ricardo Pessuto, Maurício Arruda, Murilo Weitz, Plantar Ideias + Lao Design and the Suíte Design office. In addition to them, several other renowned designers also stood out for their launches and innovations. We visited the fair, at the opening for guests*, which took place on August 8th, and chose the most expressive works. You can see them in the gallery above!
