Visitors are led into a light-filled space called the "Detection Room." The building is equipped with a movable dome that, when closed, allows the room to be used for "ganzfelds"—another artistic concept by Turrell, in which visitors' perception is drastically distorted by the removal of the perceived structure of the space.
