Works by the artist from Rio Grande do Sul make up the exhibition taking place at the modernist house Noyes House, in Connecticut

The work of artist Hugo França from Rio Grande do Sul is featured in an exhibition far from Brazil, in Connecticut, in the United States. “At The Noyes House” is a collaborative exhibition featuring works of art and contemporary design. As the name suggests, it takes place at home of the family of Eliot Noyes, an important name in modern architecture. 
Conceived and produced by the galleries Blum & Poe and Mendes Wood DM, together with the art and design fair Object & Thing, the event takes place between September 15 and November 28. In addition to França, it features works by names such as Sergio Camargo, Alma Allen, Lucas Arruda, Lynda Benglis, Sonia Gomes, Green River Project LLC, Mark Grotjahn, Kazunori Hamana, Jim McDowell and Antonio Obá. 
Eliot Noyes was a prominent name in architecture and design in the 20th century, most notably recognized for his work as Consulting Director of Design at IBM, where he designed the electric typewriter, and his role as curator of industrial design at the Museum of Modern Art, where he championed the careers of designers such as Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen. He built the Noyes House in 1954 as his residence. 
Fred Noyes, Eliot Noyes' son, comments, "My father conceived the architecture of the house as a backdrop to seamlessly blend art with everyday life. As I grew up, new works of art were continually introduced, unrestricted by period or style, and existing pieces were rearranged as life changed. This exhibition is a direct continuation of the tradition of bringing new ideas into the home. We invite visitors to experience the home as it is transformed by these unique works of art and design, showing the flexibility for which it was designed. My father would be delighted.”
