With the help of Tekla Structures software, completion was faster than expected in the original deadline

Technology helps build the world's tallest statue
Technology is becoming a true ally for construction and architecture when it comes to creating unique projects in the shortest possible time. Proof of this is the project for the Statue of Unity in India - more specifically located in the Narmada district, Gujarat, which was completed two months ahead of its original deadline.

To achieve this, the professionals involved in the construction of the monument had the help of the engineering company Trimble, which offers software aimed at construction: Tekla Structures . With the adoption of this technology, the professionals had a 25% increase in productivity . The monument, which is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel , the leader of the Indian independence movement, is the tallest in the world. At 182 meters, it is twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty .
The statue was completed after 33 months of construction, making it one of the fastest projects ever built. “We are proud and honored that Tekla Structures contributed to this successful and timely construction. This is a prestigious project of historic national significance. We are confident that the statue will inspire more contractors and companies in the industry to actively adopt this modern construction technology for faster, safer and more efficient development of their projects ,” said Paul Wallett, CEO of Trimble Solutions. The software worked on two fronts to achieve productivity gains: making communication between those involved more fluid and using 3D BIM to integrate the strategy. This way, professionals were able to have an ultra-realistic idea of what the next steps would be and avoid errors during construction.

The result of the project was a monument capable of withstanding up to 180 kilometers per hour of wind speed, and surviving earthquakes of up to 6.5 on the Richter scale, at a depth of 10 kilometers within a radius of 12 kilometers (since the statue is located in a place with an incidence of earthquakes ).
