In December, Miami becomes one of the world's top destinations for art and design enthusiasts. Between December 4th and 9th, the city welcomes over 100,000 visitors who dedicate themselves to exploring the more than 200 events spread across the various Miami's artsy neighborhoods. And this year, the itinerary goes beyond the traditional art scene, with events for all tribes. Fashionistas, celebrities and curious people in general travel in search of not only new things but also opportunities in this varied and intense cultural agenda. There are countless exhibitions, festivals, performances, decoration exhibitions, sculpture gardens and even a new museum that completely transform the city best known for its natural beauty.

We have selected some unmissable moments to help you who are in Miami or for those who want to follow all the news of this marathon from a distance.

The flagship fair of Miami Art Week, Art Basel has anchored the event since 2001. Paintings, installations, photographs and edited works are on display in the main pavilion while sculptures, films and performances become part of the city’s surrounding area. Design Miami, on the other hand, brings together the world’s most influential collectors, gallerists, designers and curators to celebrate and market the best in collectible design and culture. To celebrate 50 years of the Kappa brand logo, Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft created the performance VB88 in which she will interpret the brand's look with fifty different interactions with the logo. December 5th, 5:30pm to 8pm, at 348 NW 2nd Street.

CASACOR Miami returns for its third consecutive year to downtown Miami. In partnership with Swire Properties, 18 interior designers and architects including Sig Bergamin, Michelle Haim, Léo Shehtman, Yodezeen, and more will showcase their innovative creations from December 2 to 21 at 700 Brickell Avenue.

The Institute of Contemporary Art Miami presents the exhibition “All The Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins” by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. This will be the first time that one of the artist’s ‘infinity mirror rooms’ has been displayed in Miami. The installation will be open for viewing from October 12 to January 31 at 112 NE 41st Street, Suite 106.

For the second year running, Alan Faena and his hotel complex are hosting the Faena Festival, entitled “The Last Supper”. The idea is to reflect on spirituality and food. Installations and performances will take place on the stage of the Faena Theater, in the halls of the Faena Forum and on the beach in front of the hotel, which has an open-air cinema with a screen mounted on top of a boat. Showing Les Lalanne and The Raleigh Gardens

The beachfront Raleigh Gardens, designed by Peter Marino and Raymond Jungles, hosts the Les Lalanne installation. It is a tribute to the famous design duo Claude Lalanne and François-Xavier Lalanne. From November 22 to February 2020, at 1775 Collins Avenue.

The Rubell Museum’s inaugural exhibition is titled “Unparalleled Journey Through Contemporary Art of Past 50 Years” and features 300 works by 100 artists. Located in the Allapattah neighborhood, just west of Wynwood, the new museum features more than 40 galleries filled with the collection of Mera and Don Rubell. The exhibition runs from December 4 through January 10. Pictured are Mera and Don Rubell, two of the nation’s greatest art collectors.

Miami's famous arts district, Wynwood Walls, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The list of artists invited to join the neighborhood's mural collection includes names such as Hush, Mina Hamada, Kelsey Montague, Michael Vasquez, Kenny Scarf, Ernesto Marange and Martha Cooper. Forty years in the making, El Espacio 23 is a new private museum dedicated to the vast art collection of entrepreneur Jorge M. Pérez. The space is housed in a warehouse redesigned by Pérez himself in the Allapattah neighborhood. The inaugural exhibition, “Time for Change,” explores conflicts and contradictions in contemporary social spheres, with some 100 works by 80 artists on display. From December 5 to 8, at 2270 NW 23rd St.
