Istituto Marangoni . The program consists of four-day workshops taught at

genius loci concept, using Istituto Marangoni’s unique teaching method. In addition, there will be cultural talks aimed at inspiring trends. Guest speakers include
Giulio Cappellini , architect and art director of the design firm Cappellini , and
Cristina Morozzi , Italian journalist, critic and art director, will enhance the experience with their unique experiences and visions on Brazilian design trends. [wpvideo 31zB16Wd] The first two workshops will be held in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in 2020, focusing respectively on interior design and the intersections between art and design. The next editions will be dedicated to regions where design is incipient, such as Rio Grande do Sul and the Amazon, and will focus on the role of natural materials and traditional crafts in contemporary design. Check out the workshop descriptions below:
Focus: Style and interior design. Description: Hospitality and life is understood as a hybrid category, which refers to a contemporary lifestyle that reflects a particular sensitivity to place and coexists in harmony with the surrounding environment, both natural and cultural. This encompasses new forms of hospitality that deal with experience and integration, challenging the traditional definition between short-term accommodation and everyday life.
Research Content: Cross-pollination between Art and Design - Cristina Morozzi. Rio de Janeiro, September 2020 Focus: Contemporary design trends and approaches. Relationship between history, art and design. Description: Evidence that disciplinary boundaries are being crossed in the space of a project (be it art, interior design or fashion) can be identified in a surprising number of examples throughout, and even at different moments in, history. Sometimes, influence and inspiration are direct, formal and easily read. In other cases, the creative process is more opaque. This workshop will introduce a methodological framework for understanding and connecting what may seem like disparate phenomena to reveal relationships and help in understanding new works.
