In partnership with Museu Casa do Pontal, in Rio de Janeiro, the exhibition brings together works by 25 popular artists from different Brazilian regions

Curated by Angela Mascelani, the exhibition is a partnership between Sesc and Museu Casa do Pontal, in Rio de Janeiro, the largest collection of folk art in the country. More than one hundred works are brought together with the aim of offering an overview of everyday activities , festive, imaginary and religious of the country and also give a perspective of the individual history of each artist, which, at times, remains anonymous, lost in an idea of a “group”, which the term popular art confers.
(RE)INVENTAR – ARTISTAS CRIADORES will also promote educational activities such as guided tours, to ensure maximum public enjoyment. The Sesc Santo André Canteen will also have its own special program: every month, a menu with typical dishes from the states of the artists on display will be created by renowned chefs.
