Team Group’s sunken courtyard introduces a green oasis to the Iranian desert landscape. The natural underground water supply allows for small streams to flow through the masonry courtyard and into large pools. This creates a more habitable environment for the lush plant life that grows between the elements of the structure. with a strong sense of symmetry, the team design group utilizes repeated geometries of solids and voids that are subtracted from the ground or added as conditioned interiors.[newsletter] 
Team Group presents an investigation into the ancient architecture of Iran’s hot and dry regions with the design of a sunken oasis . Among the most powerful and significant elements of Iranian architecture, the courtyard has been reimagined as a brick monument below ground level. , with ventilation and shade in a naturally desert context. The project, designed to be a boutique restaurant, is integrated into the flat landscape and is composed of volumes with curved lines and inverted symmetry.
