João Armentano has over 30 years of experience in the design and execution of architectural, interior and decoration projects in the residential, commercial, corporate and hotel segments. For his first book, published by Zeta Editora, the architect chose houses, apartments, field and interior design of the Hotel Unique. These are hand-selected projects that span a decade of the career of the professional who has collected awards and participated in architecture and decoration exhibitions.

Accustomed to dealing with large-scale projects and the use of elements such as glass panels, wood, concrete and marble, João Armentano likes to say that luxury is not in the size of the house or the opulence of the materials, but in the welcome that the space provides. For him, it doesn't matter if the environment is only 4 m² or 4 thousand m², if the resident feels comfortable there, that is worth more than anything. Spaces with straight lines and angles, which reference modernism, are sometimes contrasted with more rounded volumes. As well as the coldness of some surfaces such as metal that always dialogue with the warm and welcoming touch of wood. The architect builds all his projects very close to the clients, there is a constant search to understand the needs of the resident, hence the recurring use of décor items and furniture with emotional baggage. Armentano believes that a good professional is one who works almost like a psychoanalyst for the client.

In addition to the ever-present vegetation in the architect's work, whether in external or internal projects, works of art also take center stage in some of Armentano's creations. Names such as Tomie Ohtake and Emanoel Araújo appear throughout rooms that, although reminiscent of art galleries, are spaces of coexistence. “The room is lively and averse to monotony, made to be enjoyed with family and friends”, concludes Armentano.
The book, which features an introductory text by Ruy Ohtake and Fátima Ali, highlights the award-winning Oasis presidential suite at the Unique Hotel. Chosen by the publication Elite Traveler as one of the 100 best hotel suites in the world through the Top 100 list. 100 Suites , the space has just received an update of its materials and decor.
