World's largest greenhouse to be on display at 2021 Venice Biennale

Called Tropicália precisely because of its tropical appearance, the project for the world's largest greenhouse will be shown to the public for the first time this year at the Venice Architecture Biennale , starting on May 22. The project was created by Coldefy in partnership with Zucca Projects. The goal is to build Tropicália in 2024 in northern France, to immerse visitors in a 20,000 m² tropical environment, covered by a 35-meter-high dome . The space, despite reflecting a warmer atmosphere, will be ventilated. to stay at a maximum of 26ºC to healthily accommodate a wide variety of species of plants, fish, reptiles, birds, butterflies, among many others.

The greenhouse has no partitions. It is a double dome design designed to be integrated and with maximum thermal insulation . The great advantage of the project is that it invests in clean energy . The heat accumulated by the greenhouse effect will be stored and recycled and then exported through a heat network to neighboring homes. Visitors planning to visit the prototype at the Venice Biennale will be able to see the architecture and engineering that went into the entire system for sustainable air treatment .
