With the ever-increasing demand for green and renewable energy sources that have a lower environmental impact, oil extraction platforms are doomed to fall into disuse. With this in mind, the
XTU Architects office developed the
X_Lands project, which redefines the use of platforms and imagines them as homes of the future.
Exploring the adaptation potential of platforms, the concept transforms immense constructions into poetic, exotic and habitable symbols.
The firm designed bubble-shaped structures and large containers to house the homes. The proposals have in common the desire to add greenery to the project, with natural vegetation in the outdoor areas.[newsletter]
