An
exhibition center located in a green area in the
commune of Agordo, Italy , outside the city center surrounded by an
alpine landscape characterized by natural anthropic signs was the result of the project by
Studio Botter in partnership with Studio Bressan .
On site,
recreational activities such as shows, theater performances, art exhibitions and concerts can be expected. The structure draws attention for its modern design characterized by a repeated
sloping roof that draws a signal across the landscape from North to South.
The choice of
wood for the project had two main reasons: environmental compatibility and harmony with the region's traditions. It was also a good choice to bring modernity and warmth to the composition.
The
facades of the complex also attract attention. They were designed with
glass curtains , completely transparent, in order to allow the contemplation of the mountains and all the natural beauty that surrounds them from the main hall.
The
cantilevered roof over the glass walls protects the visitor entrances and the wooden structure from atmospheric agents.
It also creates a real
barrier to direct sunlight during the hottest days , while still allowing light to enter to create solar energy for heating during the coldest months.
