Casper Schols creates a cabin that opens up to the world

Caspar Schols has designed a cabin that literally opens up to the people who live in it and to nature. Dubbed the ANNA cabin, this dynamic wooden home is an open platform that allows users to play around with its configuration depending on their needs or even of your mood. With two sliding sections – one made of wood and one made of glass – occupants can close the cabin to create a cozy environment or open it up to connect with the natural surroundings.

Many ways to live

There are three main shell configurations: closed; open center; and open center with glass roof. This allows you to decide how much space you want to have exposed, covered, or just transparent. The project has a fixed zone that houses the kitchen, bathroom and attic.

The third is ANNA me which can be fully customized to specific requirements. “With ANNA me we can adapt ANNA to every individual wish or create a radically new cabin concept for your company in your backyard, in the desert or in a resort.” exclusive vacation”, comments the designer. The cabin is made from sustainably grown, untreated larch. Inside, birch veneer was used, insulated with 5 cm of sawdust. To keep the cabin warm, a wood stove or electric heating can be installed. To keep it cool during the summer, long horizontal windows were positioned under the roof overhang, ensuring that only indirect sunlight enters.
