In homage to João Caetano, Espelhos da Alma is full of details that tell a story. Objects picked out by the experience of the eye transcribe the passion of the honoree for art and design, a passion also shared by Helio Albuquerque and Sonia Peres, who were responsible for the project. Icons of national architecture and design, such as Oscar Niemeyer, Lina Bo Bardi and Jorge Zalszupin, appear as references. It is the works of art, however, that stand out.

Integrated and minimalist, Casa Capital is a haven of good design and technology. Designed by Ney Lima, a veteran architect at the show, the space features exclusive furniture designed by Jader Almeida. The organic connection between the living room, bedroom, bathroom and closet takes place over 92 m², drawing attention to the modular sofa, which can be configured in a variety of ways. In the background, it is worth noting the 21 m² LED panel with images of nature.

The Loft Essência focuses on integration with the garden, in a design that resembles old winter gardens. The appeal to nature also appears on the largest wall of the space by Helaine Caloête, covered in lurcena stone that prolongs contact with nature. The 120 m² are filled with Brazilian furniture and reveal a preference for looser structures, such as the curved lacquered slatted wall that reserves the bedroom from the social area.

Leo Romano built the 300 m² Galeria Só Reparos over an old swimming pool. As a stimulus for introspection, he takes the visitor from the house's veranda, with objects created by the architect and artist Ieda Jardim, to the gallery with a loose and minimalist layout. The few pieces and light colors contrast with natural elements. At the end of the journey, the environment sharpens the desires and defines an intense and peaceful atmosphere.

Original architecture by Oscar Niemeyer, the Arauco Restaurant was conceived as a restoration of the seventies design and style of the original building. Priscila Gabriel from Studio Pippa looked for furniture in antique shops, made up of items by Sérgio Rodrigues, Joaquim Tenreiro and Liceu Arte e Ofício, reinforcing the atmosphere of nostalgia. Concrete, wood, iron and light complement the 230 m² space, which opens onto the gardens like a home balcony.

The wabi sabi concept determines the environment, which is based on Eastern philosophy to value the simple, the imperfect, the rustic. By Juliane Vargas and Tainá Moi, Estúdio Melhor de Nós is monochromatic over 83 m² that, with the same unpretentious naturalness, brings together a living room, kitchen, bedroom, closet, bathroom and balcony. Supporter of slow living, which seeks to slow down and focus on affective values. Highlights include the lamps and the bicycle made from bamboo.

The living area by architects Angela Castilho and Alex Rodrigues draws inspiration from the dry vegetation of the Cerrado, creating a composition with wooden trunks, rustic textures and warm tones. The strength of the 220 m² space comes from the elements in their natural state, such as bamboo, sand, clay, stones and linen and cotton fabrics. An appreciation for simplicity complements the look.

The Subvesivo Lavabo by Anna Albano and Camila Abrahão, from the Casulo office, relies on the versatility of just two coverings in its composition. This is precisely the proposal for subversion: to revolutionize the use of materials, proposing unconventional forms and unexplored languages. Undoing the distinction between floor and ceiling, the lavabo is like a box, which encourages visitors to approach by encouraging them to leave messages on the doors of the cabins.

CASACOR Brasília reaches the end of its 28th edition on October 22nd, in less than two weeks. Housed in the former Casa da Manchete , the exhibition pays homage in 45 spaces to its undeniable ancestry in the architecture of Oscar Niemeyer , who draws on the design of the building, built in 1978. Spread over 8 thousand m² of area, the 69 professionals focused on creating sensorial, affective and technological environments. The naturalness of the materials stood out in 11 spaces in the exhibition , which opted for wooden coverings and called for a reconnection with nature. Fluid spaces give up wall dividers to give way to the contour of light and large openings, which inspire integrated spaces with a loose layout in this edition. Her taste for nature gave her the freedom to settle in, giving life to urban jungles and different impressions of the harshness of the cerrado, explored in their naturalness. We have selected the spaces that you cannot miss from this edition. Get inspired by the gallery! CASACOR Brasilia 2019
