Former Banespa building reopens to the public with incredible attractions

Farol Santander will offer eleven floors that include a museum with the history of Banespão, art exhibitions, lectures, a loft and a skate park

The old Altino Arantes building, known as the Banespa building, has been renovated and will reopen to the public on January 26. The day before, on the anniversary of the city of São Paulo, the inauguration will take place with the lighting of 124 lights on its top, at 8:30 p.m. For a long time, the building was considered the tallest in the capital, now the building is the Farol Santander and will offer eleven floors for visitors, with several attractions, including a museum with the history of Banespão, art exhibitions, lectures , a loft and a skate park. As before, the classic visit will be via the viewpoint that offers a 360º view of the region, including major landmarks such as Pico do Jaraguá and Serra do Mar. All of these landmarks will be marked on new glass panels to increase safety and facilitate navigation. orientation of visitors. Between the 2nd and 5th floors, there will be exhibitions that rescue the historical memory of the place through videos, interactive panels, original furniture from the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios and a permanent exhibition by the artist Vik Muniz, with seven panels made with more than 10 tons of scrap.

The 22nd and 23rd floors will always house two professionals, one national and the other foreign, who will address the same theme in four-month seasons. The first theme is landscapes . The Russians from the Tundra collective present the installation The Day We Left Field and the São Paulo artist Laura Vinci presents the installation Diurna . The main highlight of the renovation is a skate park designed by world champion Brazilian Bob Burnquist, located on the 21st floor. The 25th floor houses a loft created by the award-winning architecture firm Triptyque. For a daily rate of R$4,000, you can stay in a loft. if in the 350 m² apartment with panoramic views (reservations can be made via Airbnb).
