Designed by architect Yasuhiro Yamashita, this Japanese micro house masterfully encapsulates the concept of space optimization. Located on a corner near the center of Tokyo, it was built in an angular shape reminiscent of traditional origami, with three floors distributed over a total of 44 m².

The West Virginia cabin, built as a retreat for photographer Nick Olson and designer Lilah Horwitz, features a facade made up of antique doors and windows built by the couple themselves.

The Extension vB4, designed by dmvA, follows this concept. The original house, located in Brecht, Belgium, needed to be transformed into a holiday retreat for its owners, who felt unwelcoming in the A-frame structure. To solve this problem, architect Rini van Beek designed an extension that would not impact the surrounding landscape, but would completely change the function of the house’s interior spaces.
